Job Description Job Title: Foreman - Concrete Formwork/Foundations Job Description The Foreman – Concrete Formwork leads field crews in the construction of concrete foundations and formwork for large commercial, industrial, warehouse, and similar projects across Eastern New York. This role plans, coordinates, and supervises all on-site concrete foundation activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards. The foreman interprets structural, civil, and architectural blueprints, develops daily and long-term execution plans, and provides hands-on leadership while actively participating in field labor. This position suits an experienced leader who can operate independently from day one, manage large projects up to approximately 18,000 square feet, and confidently oversee all aspects of concrete foundation work from layout through final cleanup. Responsibilities • Lead and supervise on-site concrete foundation and formwork activities for large commercial, industrial, warehouse, and similar projects., • Plan daily and long-term execution of the concrete foundation scope in alignment with the project schedule and budget., • Interpret and work from structural, civil, and architectural blueprints to guide layout, formwork, reinforcement, and concrete placement., • Manage daily activities for the concrete foundation scope, including work site layout, crew assignments, and task sequencing., • Conduct AM and PM huddles to review work plans, safety topics, progress, and next steps with field crews., • Coordinate and oversee form construction, reinforcement placement, flatwork, and concrete pours to meet quality and schedule requirements., • Actively participate in field labor, including layout, formwork installation, rebar work, concrete finishing, and site cleanup., • Submit accurate daily reports and project updates to the project management team, including progress, manpower, and issues., • Monitor and manage adherence to the construction schedule, adjusting plans and resources to maintain or recover timelines., • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company safety policies, including conducting safety talks and maintaining strong safety practices on site., • Maintain good safety hygiene by identifying hazards, enforcing PPE use, and stopping work when conditions are unsafe., • Oversee jobsite housekeeping to keep work areas clean, organized, and free of unnecessary hazards., • Coordinate deliveries of materials, equipment, and supplies, and manage inventory to ensure readiness for daily tasks., • Verify equipment readiness at the start of each day and address any maintenance or operational issues promptly., • Collaborate and communicate effectively with company leadership, project management, subcontractors, and site personnel to resolve field issues and maintain smooth operations., • Use construction documentation tools, including project management software, to document work progress and communicate with the broader project team., • Train and mentor new and existing team members to promote efficient, consistent, and high-quality workmanship., • Manage timekeeping for crew members and ensure accurate recording of hours worked., • Travel as needed within the Eastern part of New York to various project sites., • Work overtime and occasional Saturdays as required by project schedules and workload., • Report to the shop or job site before 6:30 a.m., meet with the site supervisor, load equipment, and organize the crew for the day’s work., • 3–5+ years of experience as a lead or foreman on commercial, industrial, warehouse, or large concrete form and foundation construction projects., • Extensive experience in concrete construction, foundations, and related trades, including formwork, rebar, and concrete finishing., • Proven leadership and supervisory experience managing field crews on active construction sites., • Demonstrated ability to manage the daily activities for the concrete foundation scope on large commercial projects., • Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and quality standards for foundations and flatwork., • Ability to read and interpret structural, civil, and architectural blueprints accurately., • Experience submitting daily reports and project updates to a project management team., • Solid understanding of how to manage a project to a schedule and adjust plans to maintain timelines., • Willingness and ability to assist with labor work on site, including layout, formwork installation, concrete pours, and cleanup., • Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as required., • Willingness to travel within the Eastern part of New York to various project locations., • Good safety hygiene and the ability to conduct effective safety talks and enforce safety practices., • Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal teams, subcontractors, and site personnel., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to field challenges and changing conditions., • High school diploma or equivalent preferred., • Vocational or technical training in construction or a related field preferred., • OSHA 30 certification., • OSHA 10 certification., • Experience with site construction and coordination on commercial projects., • Proficiency in concrete finishing, including flatwork and formwork finishing., • Ability to perform accurate layout for foundations and structural elements., • Experience with rebar installation and reinforcement detailing for concrete foundations., • Experience in carpentry, masonry, or related trades supporting concrete construction., • Working knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for construction sites., • Familiarity with construction documentation tools and project management software (for example, platforms used to track progress and documentation)., • Experience overseeing projects up to approximately 18,000 square feet in size., • Prior foreman experience with responsibility for crew management, scheduling, and quality control. Work Environment This is a field-based role with 100% of work performed outdoors on active construction sites. Work continues in all non-hazardous weather conditions, including rain, snow, cold, heat, and wind, so candidates must be comfortable working in varying climates throughout the year. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, reporting to the shop or job site before 6:30 a.m., with workdays generally running until around 4:00 p.m. Overtime is common, ranging from approximately 2 to 20 hours per week depending on project schedules, and Saturday work is required as needed. Crew sizes typically range from 1–2 up to about 10 team members, and the foreman collaborates closely with site supervision and project leadership. The role involves regular travel within Eastern New York to different project locations, daily loading and unloading of tools and equipment, and hands-on participation in construction activities in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
