Job Description Industrial Maintenance Electrician - El Cajon, CA Job Description • This role focuses on electrical repair, installation, and preventive maintenance for production equipment and facility systems in an aerospace manufacturing machine shop. You will support the setup and installation of new equipment, perform complex troubleshooting on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, and ensure that all machinery and facility infrastructure remain in safe, reliable working condition. Responsibilities • Perform electrical repairs and preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems, with approximately 70% of work on manufacturing machinery and 30% on facility maintenance., • Support the installation and setup of new production equipment, including electrical connections, control systems, and integration with existing infrastructure., • Observe equipment in operation to identify, prevent, and diagnose potential problems before they lead to downtime or safety issues., • Dismantle devices and machinery to access, remove, repair, and replace defective or worn parts, then reassemble and test for proper operation., • Install, repair, or rebuild equipment and replace ordinary parts as needed to maintain optimal performance and reliability., • Keep machinery, equipment, and facility systems in good repair through ongoing inspections, corrective actions, and scheduled preventive maintenance., • Perform electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic system repairs on facility and production equipment, including HVAC and refrigeration systems., • Understand and interpret general construction drawings and schematics, including plumbing, hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatics, to guide installation and repair work., • Maintain and service plumbing, gas, air, drains, and wastewater systems to support safe and efficient facility operations., • Handle plumbing tasks such as working with PVC lines for water, removing and replacing toilets, unclogging toilets, and replacing light ballasts., • Work on and repair airlines made of PVC or copper, ensuring proper function of compressed air systems used in production processes., • Perform maintenance and repair on industrial electrical equipment, including AC and DC motor controls and high-voltage systems up to 480V., • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronic systems associated with production machinery and facility equipment., • Repair and maintain NC equipment and a variety of shop machinery, including press brakes, CNC brake presses, seam welders, shears, CNC turret punch presses, punch presses, spot welders, power rolls, power rollers, hydro presses, resistance seam welders, and expanders., • Work with AC voltage ranges from 180V to 480V, ensuring safe and accurate testing, adjustment, and repair., • Install, troubleshoot, and adjust transformers, including checking and setting voltages and performing related electrical diagnostics., • Conduct panel preventive maintenance, including checking for loose fuses, identifying hot spots, and using tools such as thermal imaging (e.g., flir gun) to detect issues., • Check voltage on machines, verify continuity, and perform other electrical tests to diagnose and resolve equipment problems., • Use control logic and ladder logic to troubleshoot and repair equipment, with a strong focus on Fanuc controls where approximately 90% of equipment runs on these systems., • Read and interpret control logic diagrams and electrical schematics to identify faults and implement effective repairs., • Resolve power supply issues for AC and DC motors by checking for blown fuses, wiring problems, and other electrical faults., • Repair breakers and heavy industrial equipment, ensuring safe operation and compliance with electrical standards., • Perform reactive maintenance by responding quickly to equipment issues, troubleshooting root causes, and implementing immediate corrective actions., • Follow up reactive maintenance with planned preventive maintenance tasks and facility repairs to reduce future downtime and extend equipment life. Essential Skills • Strong electrical repair and installation skill set, including experience with high-voltage systems such as 440V and 480V three-phase power., • Hands-on experience with hydraulics maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems and machinery., • Proficiency in pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repairing pneumatics in production and facility equipment., • Ability to work with transformers, including adjusting voltages, troubleshooting, and installing transformers in industrial environments., • Experience with electrical panels, including panel preventive maintenance, checking fuses, identifying hot spots, and performing continuity and voltage checks., • Solid understanding of control logic and ladder logic for troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment., • Extensive experience with Fanuc controls, including reading logic and diagrams to diagnose and resolve machine issues., • Capability to perform electrical maintenance on industrial equipment, including AC/DC motor controls and power supply systems., • Ability to interpret and work from general construction drawings and schematics covering plumbing, hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatics., • Practical skills in plumbing maintenance, including working with PVC lines, toilets, drains, and related fixtures., • Experience maintaining and repairing airlines made of PVC or copper in an industrial setting., • Competence in troubleshooting and repairing NC equipment and a wide range of shop machinery such as press brakes, CNC brake presses, seam welders, shears, CNC turret punch presses, punch presses, spot welders, power rolls, power rollers, hydro presses, resistance seam welders, and expanders., • Ability to perform reactive maintenance and follow up with preventive maintenance to ensure long-term reliability of equipment., • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems used in production and facility operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment or machine shop setting., • Familiarity with HVAC and refrigeration system repairs within an industrial facility., • Comfort working with AC voltage in the range of 180V to 480V in a production environment., • Experience using diagnostic tools such as thermal imaging devices to detect electrical hot spots., • Ability to maintain gas, air, drain, and wastewater systems as part of facility maintenance., • Capability to handle both production equipment maintenance and facility infrastructure repairs in a balanced workload., • Strong ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, electrical schematics, and control logic documentation., • Demonstrated ability to perform both independent work and collaborate with other maintenance and production personnel., • Attention to safety practices and adherence to industrial maintenance standards when working with high-voltage and heavy equipment. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $45.00/hr.
