We are looking for an assistant in the laboratory to help with the daily package deliveries, cleaning of laboratory work areas, and assisting of Histotechs and Lab Supervisor in daily functioning of the lab. Early start time. Part time available from 6:00 am - 10:00 am or Full Time 6:00 am - 2:00 pm. Responsibilities: Physical work is a primary part of the job. Candidate must be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds up and down one flight of stairs. Receive monthly deliveries of alcohols/reagents. Responsible for garbage collection, medical waste collection and breaking down cardboard for recycling. Cleaning and disinfecting work areas, including cleaning of floors. Daily lab tasks include cleaning, organization, and storage of paraffin blocks. Laboratory will train candidates to aid Histotechnologists and Histotechnicians (preparation of slides, changing reagents, etc.) Full time position would assist in accessioning of specimens.
