Job DescriptionMechanical Inspector IJob Description We are seeking a Mechanical Inspector I to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with manufacturing, machining, technical school, BOCES, trade school, or hands-on mechanical experience who are looking to start a career in quality inspection. In this role, you will inspect manufactured parts using precision measuring tools, compare parts against engineering drawings, and help ensure products meet quality standards. Previous inspection experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong measurement and blueprint reading skills. Responsibilities • Perform in-process and first-piece inspections of manufactured parts., • Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions., • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings., • Compare manufactured parts to specifications and customer requirements., • Document inspection results and complete required paperwork., • Follow quality procedures and safety guidelines., • Maintain a clean and organized work area., • Work closely with production personnel to ensure quality standards are met., • Perform additional duties as assigned.Required Qualifications, • Ability to read and interpret blueprints., • Experience using calipers and micrometers to take accurate measurements., • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy., • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Preferred Qualifications, • Trade school, BOCES, vocational school, military, machining, or manufacturing experience., • Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, machine shop, fabrication, or quality environment., • Exposure to first article or in-process inspections., • Sheet metal or fabrication experience is a plus., • Aerospace manufacturing experience is a plus.Why Join Us?, • Opportunity to build a career in Quality Assurance., • On-the-job training and mentorship., • Growth opportunities within a stable manufacturing environment., • Competitive benefits package upon permanent hire., • Annual performance and compensation reviews.Work Environment Manufacturing environment producing cabinets and components for server and IT applications. Available Shifts: • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, • 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AMJob Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmingdale, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
