Job DescriptionSalary: The Estimator is responsible for managing the electrical estimating process from beginning to end and producing comprehensive bid estimates for commercial construction projects. In this role, you will demonstrate your construction cost estimating techniques and knowledge in quantity takeoffs, as you complete the entire bid from the beginning to the completion of the tender. Key Responsibilities: • Produce accurate estimates of material and labor costs for the electrical element of the project., • Prepare and send out accurate electrical estimates and tender documentation., • Analyze all quotes received for electrical material and labor costs and efficiently utilize negotiation skills to achieve the best value., • Evaluate technical requirements and estimating costs to determine prices and margins of all electrical equipment., • Create estimates/quotations to potential customers - ensuring both the customer and business needs are met, and the forecast in line with requirements., • Work closely with Branch Manager, Subcontractors, Engineers and Development Managers during the estimating/tender process - building stable working relationships., • Utilize estimating software such as Accubid and Bluebeam., • Evaluate bid opportunities and liaise with potential clients, working within project deadlines to produce accurate electrical estimates., • Review and understand all project plans, requirements and specifications., • Review quotes and estimates with Branch Manager and Pre-Construction Manager to prepare recommendations for resolution of any project risks., • Identify and report escalation factors in the marketplace for specific materials and labor rates., • After submittal, actively compare and analyze competitive subcontract and supplier bids., • Ability to substantiate all aspects of final estimates. Qualifications • Proficient in estimating software., • Ability to estimate all types of projects., • Knowledge of standard electrical pricing, • Knowledge of NEC and local codes Requirements: • High School or GED., • 2-4 years work experience (5-10 years Preferred.), • Associates or Bachelor's Degree (Preferred). Work Environment: This job is fully in person, on site.
