Job Description Job Overview The Family Support Specialist (FSS) is responsible for providing, strength-based supportive services for children and their families. The FSS initiates and maintains regular contact with families, primarily in their homes. The FSS establishes trusting relationships with families, provides prenatal and other health education and assists to strengthen parent-child relationships. The FSS assists parents to improve their skills to optimize the home environment for child’s well-being and safety. The FSS also assists families in making and attending health and human services appointments including activities related to employment and education goals. Key qualifications include: • Successful completion and graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program recognized by NBCOT and completion of all fieldwork requirements. Prepares patients for exams and assists physicians as needed. Operates, maintains, and cares for imaging equipment. Processes images and related media when required. Adheres to established imaging and safety standards. Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, oneself, and others. Assumes responsibility for assigned duties and supports general customer service expectations. Performs additional tasks such as quality assurance. Conducts diagnostic and specialized CT imaging while exercising professional judgment throughout all procedures.
