Job Description POSITION SUMMARY City Parks Learn has operated interdisciplinary environmental education programs in schools and parks since 1992. Eco-Innovators is a program for 9th - 12th graders that gives students access to environmental STEM learning and introduces them to NYC infrastructure and leaders as they work to invent creative projects that push the environmental resiliency movement forward in their own communities. Students make real change as they explore urban infrastructure and advocacy tools and learn techniques to help solve challenging environmental issues, including expanding green spaces, increasing recycling and reducing waste, and improving energy efficiency. City Parks Foundation seeks an experienced environmental educator with deep knowledge of and passion for environmental resiliency and community advocacy. Reporting to the Senior Manager of STEM Pathways, the successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in delivering instruction to and working with adolescents in a project-based, out-of-school time setting. During the school year, the Eco-Innovators Program Manager manages and implements after-school programming for up to 25 high school students at each of 4 locations, using site-specific, inquiry-based lessons to stimulate meaningful learning experiences for students in their own communities. In the summer season, the Program Manager will implement an intensive version of the program for continuing juniors/seniors at one site from July through mid-August, Monday through Thursday (9am - 3pm). Eco-Innovators After-School Program takes place at sites in Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens. The Program Manager will be required to travel to and from our program sites independently and lead field trips throughout the city, most of which will happen during the Summer Institute session. A typical inspection takes approximately 1-5 minutes to complete depending on the type of structure. According to the National Registry of Exonerations, Black people comprise 47% of all known exonerations since 1989, even though they make up just 13% of the U.S. population. Furthermore, Black people are seven times more likely to be wrongfully convicted of murder than white people; a Black person convicted of sexual assault is 3.5 times more likely to be innocent than a white person convicted of such a crime; and innocent Black people are 12 times more likely to be wrongfully convicted of drug possession than innocent white people. The work of the IP has uncovered racial (and other) bias in prosecution, policing, indigent defense, and forensic science. To further advance the mission of the IP, the (Special) Advisor on Race and Wrongful Conviction will serve as an advisor, thought leader, expert and in-house resource on racial justice, equity, bias and discrimination and its impact on the functioning of the criminal legal system and, particularly, wrongful conviction. The (Special) Advisor on Race and Wrongful Conviction will set the vision for this work and will collaborate with the IP staff to ensure that the substantive work of the organization is consistently guided, informed, and supported by rigorous historical, academic, forensic and social science research and scholarship, legal decisions, and policies/practices that explain, expose, ameliorate and ultimately eliminate racial bias as a factor in criminal legal system decision making. Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Citywide Marketing Assistant will join a 17-person Development and Marketing team at City Parks Foundation, reporting to the Marketing Director. This seasonal, part-time assistant will be the main representative for the Marketing team onsite at citywide shows for our SummerStage festival at parks across the five boroughs. This role will lead our marketing responsibilities during citywide SummerStage events and will support the Marketing department in various outreach activities. The Citywide Marketing Assistant will be supported by summer interns and will manage intern responsibilities at events. This role is an opportunity to work on diverse projects with massive New York City exposure. This position requires live event and production experience with a proactive and can-do attitude, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving proficiency, management experience, and the ability to work independently outside on nights and weekends throughout the five boroughs. The candidates must be available to work 20-30 hours/week between June and September. This is a paid, hourly position. COMPENSATION: $20 per hour SCHEDULE: 20-30 hours per week. Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The On-Site Marketing Intern (4 internships available) will join a 17-person Development and Marketing team at City Parks Foundation, reporting to the Marketing Manager and assisting on-site at our Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage festival. This internship will primarily work on the SummerStage festival and work alongside to support the SummerStage On-Site Marketing Assistants (one manager citywide and one manager in Central Park) in a broad range of marketing outreach responsibilities. This role is an opportunity to work on diverse projects with massive New York City exposure. This position requires live event, social media and production experience with a proactive and can-do attitude, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving proficiency, and the ability to work outside on nights and weekends. The intern candidates must be available to work 15-20 hours/week between June and September. This is a paid, hourly position and may qualify for academic credit. COMPENSATION: $17.00/hour RESPONSIBILITIES ● Attend a selection of SummerStage concert performances (estimated 2-4 events/week with variance) between June - October in Central Park and in citywide parks throughout the five boroughs ● Assist with special projects surrounding SummerStage’s milestone 40th anniversary, including audience giveaways, social media campaigns, helping with special membership upgrades and contesting, and more ● Act as the primary brand ambassador representative for the Marketing / Information booth at citywide shows including booth set up, communicating event details, answering questions for all attendees, encouraging attendees to complete the SummerStage survey and sign up for SummerStage e-newsletters, providing assistance to the SummerStage membership and production teams, and distributing marketing materials ● Assist with executing SummerStage social media plan on-site at Marketing Assistant’s discretion, including posting live updates on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
