Job DescriptionFood Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Specialist The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Specialist plays a critical role in supporting food safety, regulatory compliance, and product integrity across the organization. This individual will serve as a subject matter resource for food safety and labeling compliance, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to regulatory standards across a diverse product portfolio. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in food safety and quality assurance within a manufacturing or food import environment. This is an office-based position and does not involve laboratory work. The role requires regular in-person collaboration as part of a hybrid work schedule. Key Responsibilities • Communicate directly with suppliers to obtain accurate and complete product, ingredient, and compliance information, • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to support the timely introduction of new products, • Research and assess ingredient statements, allergen disclosures, GMO status, and gluten claims for regulatory compliance, • Review and verify ingredient declarations, net weight statements, and nutrition facts panels to ensure alignment with applicable labeling laws, • Evaluate supplier documentation to confirm compliance with internal standards and federal, state, and local regulations, • Ensure consistency and accuracy of product specifications across multiple suppliers, • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve labeling or compliance-related questions and discrepanciesQualifications and Skills Required • Minimum of two years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, food technology, or a related role within food manufacturing and/or food imports, • Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, ISO standards, and applicable USDA and FDA regulations, • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word, • Foundational knowledge of food safety, nutrition, and general food science concepts, • Familiarity with analytical and microbiological terminologyPreferred, • Bachelor's degree in food science, biology, nutrition, or a related discipline (culinary education and relevant professional experience will also be considered), • Strong research, investigative, and data evaluation skills, • Ability to compile, analyze, audit, and verify technical information and documentation, • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing, • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate, with strong problem-solving abilities, • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working in a collaborative, fast-paced environmentCompensation This organization offers a competitive compensation package. The base salary range for this position is $55,000-$67,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Health insurance, dental insurance and life insurance are offered with this full-time direct hire role.
