Job Description JOB SUMMARY: The Tool Crib Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the tool crib and stockroom functions that support maintenance, repair, operations, and production. This role ensures proper inventory control, tool availability, and efficient distribution of materials required for plant operations. The supervisor manages tool crib staff, maintains accurate inventory records, coordinates purchasing activities, and ensures compliance with company safety, quality, and operational standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Supervise the daily operations of the tool crib and stockroom areas, including oversight of staff across multiple shifts, • Maintain accurate inventory levels of tools, spare parts, and production supplies, ensuring availability to support maintenance and production operations, • Monitor inventory transactions including receiving, issuing, stocking, and tracking tools and materials in the inventory management system, • Coordinate the ordering of replacement parts, new tools, and supplies while supporting purchasing activities and vendor communication, • Ensure all materials received or issued are processed accurately and in a timely manner, • Implement and maintain organized storage systems in accordance with LEAN, 5S, and continuous improvement practices, • Track, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, tool utilization, and stockroom performance, • Develop and maintain tool crib procedures, policies, and documentation to support operational efficiency and internal customer needs, • Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure system accuracy and accountability, • Prepare employee schedules, assign work tasks, and coordinate staffing to minimize overtime and prevent production downtime, • Train, mentor, and evaluate Tool Crib Attendants, including conducting performance reviews and supporting employee development, • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to ensure timely availability of tools and materials, • Maintain proper records for tool tracking, calibration (if applicable), and repair or replacement schedules, • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards while promoting a strong safety culture, • Participate in departmental, production, and safety meetings as required, • Communicate operational issues, inventory concerns, or process improvements to management in a timely manner, • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in special projects as assigned, • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in tool crib operations, stockroom management, inventory control, or maintenance support within a manufacturing environment, • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred, • Strong knowledge of inventory control processes and stockroom operations, • Understanding of manufacturing maintenance tools, spare parts, and equipment, • Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices, • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, • Strong communication and leadership skills, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software, • Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance, production, and purchasing teams #EuroHigh #EuroUrgent #EuroHigh
