Job Description IVI RMA North America has a need for a Full-Time Registered Nurse for our Englewood clinic. This position is Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm with weekend rotation. Job Purpose: The Nurse will function as a dynamic member of the patient care team, providing education and guidance to fertility patients throughout their journey. The Registered Nurse will serve as treatment coordinator and strive to provide every individual an optimal patient experience. Essential Functions and Accountabilities: • Assists with coordination of care, management, and treatment of fertility patients., • Implements Provider directives through management of diagnostic and clinical treatment plans., • Provides care for assigned patients by applying appropriate RMA workflows, policies and clinical practice guidelines:, • Reviews medical records and lab results. Sets appropriate expectations, educates patient/couple on testing, treatment options and RMA processes., • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient care services in the EMR, • Demonstrates skills and judgment necessary to implement the plan of care. Performs nursing interventions and procedures as necessary to promote the care and safety of the patient., • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients; comforts patients by anticipating their anxieties, answering questions and addressing concerns., • Participates in the education and training of nurses. The Medical Assistant reports directly to the Practice Administrator. • Prepare patients for examination, including TPR, weight, blood pressure, update health information, allergies, and current medication., • Document patient vitals, assessment, encounter type, and provider into EMR., • Communicate with physician and/or nurse practitioner, changes in patient condition, abnormal vitals, lab results, and abnormal patient response during testing/exam., • Prepare minor procedure trays and assist with procedures (i.e., hysteroscopy, endometrial and/or punch biopsy, cyst aspiration, Pap smears, GC/chlamydia testing, HSG testing, etc.)., • Prep exam room respective to patient appointment and testing., • Educate patient on procedure(s) and provide answers prior to procedure., • Assist physician and/or nurse practitioner with patient examinations., • Maintain patient workflow to meet physician/nurse practitioner scheduling requirements., • Order and schedule lab tests as directed; review results and annotate appropriate disposition., • Order prescriptions/refills for patients prior to procedure; notify patient upon completion., • Disinfect room after each exam/appointment re-prep for next patient., • Equipment maintenance and sterilization; identify any need for supplies/parts/repair and notify Practice Administrator., • Order and maintain back-office supplies and reconcile monthly receipts/packing slips for submission to the business office., • Scan signed consents, office appointment forms, laboratory, and pathology reports into EMR., • Monitor medicine cabinet/refrigerator and order medications, as needed., • Perform urine pregnancy test, document results in EMR, and communicate with physician, nurse practitioner, or rad technician prior to exam/procedure., • Autoclave all used instruments, document size and type of instrument on package, change sterile/cleaning solution, and document in the soak-log., • Clean stationary room equipment, underside of exam tables, and provide clean/linens/supplies for all patient rooms’ weekly minimum, or as needed., • Maintain HIPAA and Confidentiality for all patient and clinic information, HIV confidentiality., • Understand and assess potential domestic violence and child abuse issues and report concerns to Medical Director or Practice Administrator., • High School Diploma Required., • Medical Assistant (MA) -or- Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) credential required., • BCLS certification required., • Phlebotomy certification preferred., • 1+ year Medical Assistant -or- Licensed Practical Nursing experience preferred. This position collaborates closely with the physicians to coordinate patient care and treatment and consult with patients regarding treatment protocols, medications, and/or required testing procedures. The IVF Nurse Coordinator is expected to function independently in the role as well as in a team environment. The IVF Nurse Coordinator reports to the IVF Nurse Supervisor. • Assess patients' medical histories, reproductive health, and any underlying conditions that may impact fertility and ensure appropriate data is entered in EMR., • Collaborate with physicians to determine suitable treatment plans for individual patients., • Educate patients on the IVF process (procedures, infertility testing, insemination, in vitro (IVF) fertilization, FET, and egg vitrification, etc.), medications, potential side effects, and lifestyle factors that may affect treatment success., • Provide emotional support and counseling to each patient throughout their CCRM Journey., • Guide patients on how to self-administer medications and monitor progress; adjust medication dosages based on patients' responses and communicate any concerns to the medical team., • Coordinate and schedule surgery and ART appointments, diagnostic tests, and procedures, and ensure all consents are signed and patients adhere to the treatment timeline., • Monitor established pregnancies via ultrasonography and lab tests, through the first 8-12 weeks of pregnancy (annotated in EMR)., • Serve as a liaison between patients and the medical team, relaying vital information, test results, and treatment instructions; answering any questions or concerns promptly., • Advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and preferences are taken into consideration and help patients make informed decisions about their care., • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all aspects of the IVF treatment in the EMR (i.e., medication administration, test results, progress notes, physician orders, etc.)., • Ensure patients understand results, discuss potential reasons for failure, and explore alternative treatment options or modifications to the treatment plan., • Perform intrauterine inseminations, as directed., • Verify all communicable disease testing is complete, accurate, and appropriate., • Associate Degree or higher in Nursing, from an accredited school of nursing required., • Current State Registered Nurse (RN) license (without limitations) required., • Active BCLS/ACLS certification required., • 3+ years RN experience preferred. Job Description Duties: Performs venous and capillary blood draw for the laboratory testing from the hospital in- and out-patients. Demonstrates excellent phlebotomy skills. Evaluates specimens to determine suitability for testing. Performs EKG and EEG testing. Select, assemble, check for proper function and operation of equipment for use in measurement of brain/heart activity Ensures that critical EKG readings are read immediately by the attending, House or ED physician. Assists supervisor to provide technical instructions and training of new hired personnel in techniques, computer system usage, and organization of work. Evaluates specimens and test orders for acceptability and determines rejections according to established guidelines; accessions specimens with accuracy Labels specimens properly, aliquots samples as required and obtains/distributes to proper departmental section. Reviews quantities and expiration dates of all supplies; monitors inventory of all supplies on a regular basis; notify supervisor to order supplies as needed; stores supplies received and maintains a clean and orderly storeroom. Prepares specimens for reference labs; obtains results from reference labs as needed and ensures the testing results delivered to physicians. Performs all activities related to send-out specimens; resolves issues with reference labs. EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent education required. Medical Assistant certification required. Health care certification (i.e. Lab Assistant, Phlebotomist) or prior laboratory or healthcare experience desired. EKG/ phlebotomy skills required.
