Job DescriptionWe are looking for a meticulous Legal Secretary/Transcriptionist to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will transform audio recordings of legal proceedings, dictation, and other documentation into accurate written formats. This position requires a strong command of legal terminology, exceptional grammar skills, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Responsibilities: • Convert audio recordings of court proceedings, legal dictation, and other documentation into precise written formats., • Prepare and manage electronic court filings and ensure all submissions comply with required standards., • Maintain and update legal calendars, including scheduling court appearances and deadlines., • Review and proofread transcriptions to ensure accuracy and adherence to legal formatting guidelines., • Handle dictation tasks with efficiency, ensuring all dictated notes are transcribed promptly and correctly., • Coordinate with attorneys and legal staff to clarify details or verify information when needed., • Organize and manage confidential legal documents with utmost care., • Ensure the timely delivery of transcription projects while adhering to established quality standards.• Proven experience as a legal secretary or transcriptionist, with a strong understanding of legal terminology., • Proficiency in handling e-filing and court filings., • Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills., • Ability to manage calendars and coordinate schedules effectively., • Strong listening skills and attention to detail., • Familiarity with dictation software and transcription tools., • Capacity to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy., • Knowledge of legal document formatting and procedures.
