We are seeking a Program Director for The Doe Fund's newest permanent supportive housing program for homeless men and women living with HIV/AIDS. The program is designed to provide long-term residential care and twenty-four-hour support services in a community environment that maximizes residents' independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being. Forty-one units will be allocated for residents referred by the New York City HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA), and twenty-seven apartments will be for adults referred by the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). The Program Director will provide oversight and direction for both staff and residents. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and entrepreneurial skills along with an understanding of working with the HIV/AIDS population and relevant New York City and State agencies and funding sources. Step Specialists (Stepping or step-dancing) should have knowledge and experience in this form of percussive dance. They must be able to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken words, and hand claps. The Step Specialist should have experience teaching or performing in groups of three or more, often in arrangements resembling military formations. Additional knowledge in gymnastics, break dance, tap dance, marching, African and Caribbean dance, or stunts are preferred- but not required.
