Say farewell to the ordinary, and hello to the extraordinary! Job Description What you’ll do We are looking for IT Manager to join the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona . Under the guidance of the Director of Finance, the IT Manager is responsible for ensuring functional integration of network and LAN hardware components throughout the entire operation. Verify receiving and storage procedures daily to ensure they are being followed. Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of technology including networks, workstations, POS, PMS, etc. to ensure efficient and revenue maximizing operations. Conduct capacity and performance studies recommending appropriate action to maintain standards of performance and capacity. Assist in performing hardware and software evaluation tests and determine appropriate installation or upgrade schedule. Administer, maintain and provide network level support for Hotel, Bar and Restaurant. Ensure functional integration of network and database server software and LAN hardware/software components. Perform fault isolation, problem determination and problem resolution of standard set network and serve problems to ensure proper integration of software and hardware components. Conduct capacity and performance studies pertaining to network file segments and servers (when applicable). Recommend appropriate action where performance is below objective or where capacity may be nearing its threshold. Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of process server and related network functions to ensure all components are performing optimally and in concert with each other. Perform hardware and software evaluations with individual workstations (when necessary) and determine appropriate installation and/or upgrade schedule. Maintain complete and thorough knowledge of new releases of network and server software. Document disaster recovery procedures and perform production turnover procedures with all application including but not limited to Opera, Micros, etc. Maintain department objectives and keep consistent with objective from hotel level and corporate level. Run training classes for individual workstations and new applications. Attend training classes as needed. Qualifications What we are looking for... Minimum of three (3) years of IT experience – hotel or restaurant experience preferred. Previous experience with pre-opening of a hotel or restaurant a big plus. At least 5 years of experience in Marriot is necessary to understand the various IT systems and infrastructure. Having a ‘Guest-first’ mentality is needed to be successful in this role. Some experience of Luxury hotel operations CORE WORK ACTIVITIES: Managing Technology Needs within Budget Targets Assists and/or provides input to IT Leadership for CAPEX and department operating budgets based on anticipated IT projects and property support/needs requirements. Confirms that property follows appropriate Marriot International Policies (MIPs) and Information Security Manuals (ISMs). Implements solutions as directed to resolve discrepancies. Places equipment orders as directed relating to personal computers, telecommunications, local servers/networks, processes invoices for the property. Conducts periodic inventories of applications and hardware; prepares reports as requested. Confirms that technology assets are secured. Complies with technology-related vendor contracts. Building and Sustaining Relationships with Customers. Writes and presents proposals, analyses, project plans, cost models, etc. in written and/or oral formats. Provides customer service to associates at dedicated property. Responds to inquiries from customers/vendors/peer group. Assists in disaster recovery and business continuity as it relates to technology. Provides technical guidance.
