Opportunity MERLIN Edged has an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about sustainability and eager to be part of an innovative company that’s on a journey to transform the world’s data center infrastructure. We are seeking for a Data Center Facility Manager to join our team, working directly with our Regional Service Manager and Data Center Site Managers and be responsible for developing, rolling out, and continuously improving site customers' projects, services, and reports. Key Responsabilities: • General Maintenance Management: Oversee and ensure the regular maintenance of all data center infrastructure, including HVAC systems, electrical equipment, backup generators, and plumbing. Coordinate with technicians and external vendors to schedule preventative maintenance and handle any repairs to minimize downtime., • Cleaning and Environmental Control: Manage the cleanliness of the facility by supervising janitorial staff and ensuring adherence to strict cleanliness and hygiene protocols. Maintain dust control and ensure that temperature and humidity levels are within specified parameters to ensure optimal data center performance., • Security Oversight: Develop, implement, and monitor security procedures to protect the data center from unauthorized access and potential threats. Coordinate with security personnel to ensure 24/7 monitoring, access control, and physical security of the facility., • Vendor and Contractor Management: Liaise with third-party service providers for maintenance, cleaning, and security services. Negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and ensure timely delivery of services in compliance with established standards., • Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency protocols for critical infrastructure failures, natural disasters, or security breaches. Lead response efforts and ensure all staff are trained in emergency procedures., • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that all maintenance, cleaning, and security practices comply with industry standards and legal regulations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, incident reports, and security logs. Regularly report to senior management on facility conditions and any potential risks., • Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage the budget for facility maintenance, cleaning services, and security operations. Ensure cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high standards of operational integrity., • Staff Supervision and Training: Oversee facility management staff, including maintenance technicians, janitorial staff, and security personnel. Provide training on safety protocols, data center operations, and emergency response., • Develop / provide a training schedule to support implementation and operations for our clients, • Develop and implement reviews and audits to ensure consistent implementation standards and identification of areas requiring improvement., • Implement and drive a “lessons learned” approach Skills & Requirements Education / Experience • Problem-solving aptitude and advanced knowledge of lean operational methodologies to distill operational data, develop an intentional data-driven strategy, and drive resulting global impact, • Experience mentoring and leading project management professionals is desired but not required, • Background in a technical field, or commensurate experience, • 4 years of leadership experience, preferably in a mature engineering or operations environment, • Experience in large-scale planning and coordination, and delivering multiple concurrent projects on tight timelines, • A solid understanding of enterprise level infrastructure is desired, • Have excellent customer management skills, • Knowledge of critical environmental concepts and infrastructure (e.g. Electrical Distribution, Mechanical Cooling Systems, etc.), • A solid understanding of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting, • Project or program management experience and certification(s) (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, PMI, Agile...)
