ASFD is building a dynamic, technology-driven working environment that supports digital transformation while keeping people and collaboration at the center. /p pWe are currently hiring for bBuilding Physics Engineers /b across multiple seniority levels, from junior level up to Lead: /p h3Building Physics Engineer /h3 h3Your Role /h3 ul liSupport the engineering design of state-of-the-art and bespoke cladding systems. /li liEngage with Clients, statutory bodies, and other stakeholders as part of the project team. /li liDeliver building physics assessments across diverse projects, from design conception through to detailed design stage, including thermal, condensation and acoustic assessments. /li liConduct thermal and acoustic reviews to support design development. /li liReview specifications and identify technical risks and opportunities. /li liAssist in the management of RFIs and change control processes. /li liProduce high-quality calculations, templates and technical reports. /li liContribute to the continuous improvement of system details, design processes and engineering tools. /li liSupport the preparation of performance test method statements and fire assessments. /li liShare knowledge and support the development of junior engineers and graduates. /li liAttend design workshops with multidisciplinary teams. /li /ul h3Your Skills /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree advantageous. /li liExperience in the cladding industry is preferred. /li liProficiency in thermal analysis, condensation and acoustic assessment tools. /li liKnowledge of glass performance requirements and façade system behaviour. /li liStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and develop engineering solutions. /li liProficiency using CAD software. Experience with Revit and Inventor advantageous. /li liExperience using project management and scheduling tools. /li liKnowledge of building regulations, CWCT guidelines and relevant standards. /li liQuality-driven engineer with strong attention to detail. /li liTeam player with the ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. /li liExcellent communication skills with a customer-oriented attitude. /li liMotivated professional with willingness to travel. /li liFluent in English. /li /ul h3Building Physics Engineer Lead /h3 h3Your Role /h3 ul liLead the engineering design and technical delivery of state-of-the-art and bespoke cladding systems. /li liAct as the Building Physics technical lead across multiple projects, providing expert guidance on thermal, acoustic, condensation, corrosion, fire and related façade performance requirements. /li liEngage with Clients, statutory bodies, and other stakeholders, representing the business as a trusted technical specialist. /li liManage and oversee building physics deliverables across diverse projects, from design conception through to detailed design stage, including thermal, acoustic, condensation, corrosion, fire and related façade performance assessments. /li liLead and provide technical governance for building performance assessments and reviews, including thermal, acoustic, condensation, corrosion and fire performance, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards and project objectives. /li liReview and approve building physics calculations, reports and technical submissions prior to issue. /li liInterrogate specifications and assess technical and commercial risks and opportunities. /li liLead the management of RFIs, technical queries and change control processes. /li liDevelop and maintain high-quality standards, templates, methodologies and reporting tools. /li liDrive continuous improvement of system details, design processes, calculation methods and engineering tools. /li liContribute to performance test strategies, method statements, fire assessments and façade performance evaluations. /li liManage the allocation and prioritisation of building physics resources across projects. /li liMentor, coach and support the professional development of engineers and specialists. /li liSupport recruitment, onboarding and capability development within the engineering team. /li liLead design workshops with multidisciplinary teams and facilitate technical decision-making. /li liContribute to departmental strategy, innovation initiatives and best-practice development. /li liDefine façade performance testing strategies and provide technical leadership for laboratory and on-site testing programmes. /li liReview, approve and interpret test results, ensuring findings are incorporated into design development and risk mitigation strategies. /li liLead technical engagement with test houses, consultants and certification bodies. /li liSupport the development and approval of performance test specifications, method statements and acceptance criteria. /li /ul h3Your Skills /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree preferred. /li liChartered Engineer status or membership of a recognised professional institution preferred. /li liSignificant experience in building physics and façade/cladding engineering, including leadership of complex projects. /li liAdvanced proficiency in fire, thermal analysis, condensation and acoustic assessment tools. /li liStrong understanding of glass performance requirements and façade system behaviour. /li liProven ability to review, challenge and approve technical solutions while balancing performance, risk and commercial considerations. /li liStrong understanding of façade testing standards, performance verification and certification processes. /liliExperience planning, witnessing and assessing façade performance tests. /li liExcellent problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex engineering challenges. /li liProficiency using CAD software.
