You’ll act as an enabler and an optimizer for these teams, removing blockers so they can focus on their work. The role reports to the Editorial Tech team lead, with direct impact across the nine countries where we operate, and close collaboration with C-level executives and other leaders - including Product and Tech. This is not purely a technical role; it’s a product positionwith a technical approach. We want a builder with curiosity, logic, and a passion for learning, not someone who only executes tasks.Your MissionYour mission is to develop the best solutions for the team so we achieve more ambitious goals faster and with higher quality. To do this, you must deeply understand the editorial workflow, from lesson conception to delivering the product to schools.Your Daily Life- Learn deeply about our educational products and internal creation workflows, becoming an expert in the product creation journey here at Innovamat.- Partner with multiple product teams (Learning, Linguistics, Illustration, Tech, etc.) to improve the speed and quality of our workflows and develop new approaches to current solutions.- Own and maintain internal tools that will be the base of product building, ensuring they solve real problems and are intuitive, performant and aligned with business priorities.- Enable and train colleagues to use internal tools effectively; we don’t stop just at building, we ensure the solution is correct and that everyone can use it effectively.- Coordinate with the multiple Product teams to prioritize and push improvements to all our tools and workflows.- Proactively participate in technology decisions about our systems. We value the ability to learn quickly more than a specific tech stack.- Experience integrating LLMs into real-world products and using AI as a daily tool to develop and design solutions.- Product mindset. You start with the problem rather than the solution, measure impact, and know how to say no to things that don't add value. You pause to consider the problem before taking action. You create prototypes to validate hypotheses with the team. You ensure that all solutions are successfully implemented, used correctly, and genuinely solve the problem.- You are comfortable with ambiguity and work in short cycles: hypothesis, prototype, feedback, and starting over.- You know how to communicate with non-technical stakeholders and translate their needs into solutions. You know how to help them work with new technologies and our tools.- Teamwork and communication. We are fortunate that our users are just two desks away, so you need to take advantage of that every day to provide the most suitable solutions.- Proactive and autonomous. You ask “why,” not just “how,” and take initiative to make things better.- Passion for education, our mission, and a genuine desire to help others learn.- You enjoy maths, logic, and problem-solving — puzzles excite you, not scare you.- Fluent in Spanish and English (Catalan is a plus).Nice to Have- 2–4 years of experience in fullstack engineering, or similar roles (ideally in SaaS or EdTech).- Experience taking products from a blank slate to reality and maintaining them, including everything that entails (design, development, infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring, etc.).- Experience in building internal products.- Understanding of software architecture concepts for the AI era.- Knowledge of business operations in the Edtech context.- A balance between technical accuracy and business vision — you’re an engineer at heart but a strategist in spirit.¿Qué puedes esperar de Innovamat?Nuestra cultura y nuestros valores definen quiénes somos y cómo trabajamos. We’re building Mainloop AI in Barcelona: a new AI-native team that goes into businesses, understands how work really happens, and builds working automation in weeks — not months.Mainloop AI is being created to automate professional-services work across roughly 15 countries. The team will focus on the processes where time disappears: manual admin, approvals, reconciliations, handovers, recurring spreadsheets, and workflows that have never been properly automated. This role is for the first half of that mission: going into the business, understanding the real process, building a fast MVP with AI agents, proving whether it is worth scaling — and then handing it over properly to the product and engineering team that will take it further. We’re now hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to join Mainloop AI in Barcelona. What you’ll doYou’ll work at the intersection of engineering, consulting and product. A project may start as a sentence — “our people spend two days a month reconciling this by hand” — and from there, you make it real.Your responsibilities will include:Going into the business, often in person, to understand how a process actually works.Sitting with the people doing the work, not just relying on the process as described by management.Mapping workflows, pain points, actors, rules, data flows and business impact.Checking what already exists in our portfolio before building anything new.Writing the functional architecture that agents and engineers can build from.Using AI coding agents to move from idea to working prototype quickly.Building MVPs that can be tested with real users.Running feedback loops with stakeholders and improving the product through each iteration.Quantifying the benefit and being able to say when something is not worth automating.Onboarding early users and making sure the MVP is actually adopted.Creating a clear handover pack for the Product Owner and engineering team. You take projects from zero to MVP. You do not carry them forever. Once a product is proven, the Tech Lab takes over hardening, scaling, security and long-term ownership. That means you get a new business problem, a new process and a blank page every few weeks — without accumulating a permanent support tail. What makes this role differentThis is not a traditional developer role, and it is not a traditional consulting role.We are looking for someone with a consultant’s instinct who can build: someone who cares as much about why the invoice takes eleven days as they do about the technology used to fix it.You will work with AI coding agents as a core part of the build process. The value of the role is not typing every line of code manually. It is understanding the business problem, deciding what should and should not be built, specifying it clearly, steering the agents well, and judging whether what comes back is actually right. Here, AI gives you leverage — but the judgement, architecture, stakeholder trust and accountability stay human. What we’re looking forWe don’t expect you to arrive knowing everything. We’re looking for people with the right instincts, strong learning ability and the appetite to work in a new kind of AI-native delivery model. We’d like to hear from you if:You are genuinely interested in how businesses work, especially the messy reality behind processes. You can build working web applications across frontend and backend. You are comfortable going from an idea to something usable on your own.You use coding agents seriously and can review their output critically. You are strong at understanding needs, asking good questions and finding the truth behind a workflow. You write clearly — functional architecture, project write-ups and handover documents matter here. You know when to reuse what already exists instead of starting from scratch. You can quantify impact and are comfortable saying “no” when a project is not worth building. You can let go of a project once it has been handed over. You speak fluent English. Spanish is useful day to day.You are based in Barcelona, or open to relocating there. You are comfortable with regular travel across Europe and beyond. We do not care what you studied. We care what you have built, how you think, how well you understand the business behind the build, and whether you can explain the decisions you made.Worth knowing upfrontBarcelona is your base, but this role involves significant travel. You will visit teams across roughly 15 countries to understand processes in person.Travel and accommodation are covered.Nobody is on call. Ever. You are not selling consulting days — success is measured by whether the thing works, gets used and is handed over properly. If you relocate to Barcelona, relocation support is available. If you want to combine engineering, consulting, product thinking and AI-native building — and you like the idea of turning messy business processes into working software in weeks — #J-18808-Ljbffr
