Hot Food Chef – Japanese Restaurant

We are a well-established Japanese restaurant, renowned for delivering authentic Japanese cuisine with a modern twist. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and passionate Hot Food Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Japanese cooking techniques and the ability to create flavorful hot dishes that maintain our high standards of quality and taste.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and curate innovative hot food dishes that complement our existing menu, focusing on the authenticity and presentation of traditional Japanese cuisine.
Prepare a variety of hot food items, including grilled, stir-fried, and simmered dishes, ensuring high-quality ingredients are used to bring out the true flavors of Japanese cooking.
Collaborate with our sushi chefs to create a cohesive dining experience, integrating both hot and cold dishes seamlessly.
Source quality ingredients, working with suppliers to ensure the freshest produce and authentic Japanese seasonings.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring all food preparation complies with health and safety regulations.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in Japanese hot food preparation techniques, ensuring consistency across the kitchen.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a chef specializing in hot food preparation, preferably within a Japanese restaurant environment.
Strong understanding of Japanese cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles, with a focus on grilled and simmered dishes.
Proven ability to develop and execute innovative and authentic hot food menus.
Experience sourcing and working with high-quality Japanese ingredients.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with a track record of training and mentoring kitchen staff.

Desired Skills:
Experience working in a Japanese restaurant, showcasing a deep understanding of Japanese culinary culture.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced kitchen environment, managing time efficiently and maintaining composure during busy service periods.
Passion for culinary innovation, with a desire to introduce new hot dishes while maintaining the authenticity of Japanese cuisine.
