Accounts Assistant 3–6 Month Interim Contract | Guildford (Hybrid – 3 Days On-Site) £28,000–£30,000 per annum (Equivalent Hourly Rate, Inside IR35) Temp-to-Perm Opportunity We’re working with a well-established charity based in Surrey, currently seeking a Accounts Assistant to join their finance team during a busy period of change and growth. The organisation provides vital community services and is known for its inclusive and supportive working culture. This is a hands-on and varied role that would suit someone with solid transactional finance experience, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative approach. You’ll take ownership of daily accounting duties while supporting the Finance Manager with wider reporting, reconciliations, and process improvements. Key Responsibilities • Manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records, • Process supplier invoices, staff expenses, and payments, reconciling aged creditors within Xero, • Issue monthly invoices and record all income accurately across internal systems, • Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain the fixed asset register, • Issue monthly debtor statements and support with credit control as needed, • Respond to supplier and internal queries promptly and professionally, • Assist with month-end journals, reconciliations, and reporting for review by the Finance Manager, • Liaise with internal teams to ensure donations, grants, and other income are accurately recorded and allocated, • Maintain financial tracker sheets and ensure data integrity across reports, • Support with audit preparation, year-end close, and ad-hoc finance projects, • Provide cover for the Finance Manager and assist senior leaders when required What We’re Looking For • Previous experience in a finance or accounting support role, • Strong understanding of transactional finance, reconciliations, and accounting processes, • Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel, • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills, • Confident communicator able to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams, • Proactive team player with a flexible, can-do attitude, • Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector desirable but not essential, • Available to start at short notice Why Join?
