Adecco are recruiting for a Contract Surveyor (General Build) on behalf of Croydon Council. Contract Details • 6-month temporary contract, • 36 hours per week, Monday - Friday This is an exciting opportunity to work on a varied construction and maintenance programme where you will manage inspections, technical specifications, contractor performance, and health & safety compliance while maintaining strong relationships with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders. The Role You will lead allocated surveying projects and support the delivery of the Council's General Build Construction Programme. The role combines technical surveying expertise, contract management, and customer engagement to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to agreed standards. Key responsibilities include: • Undertaking technical inspections, feasibility studies, and reporting, • Producing specifications, estimates, and lifecycle cost assessments, • Monitoring contractor performance and quality on site, • Managing project budgets and authorising variations/invoices, • Ensuring compliance with CDM and health & safety legislation, • Supporting tenant and resident engagement on works, • Chairing contractor progress meetings, • Maintaining accurate records using asset management systems We are seeking a technically strong and customer-focused surveyor who can manage multiple projects while maintaining compliance and service quality. You will have: • A recognised building or surveying qualification, • Strong knowledge of building defects, repairs, and cost estimation, • Experience with contract management (JCT or equivalent), • Working knowledge of CDM and health & safety legislation, • Experience supervising maintenance/improvement works in domestic settings, • Ability to communicate clearly with residents and stakeholders, • Experience using asset management systems (e.g., Apex or similar) If you have the skills and experience required for this role, we encourage you to apply.
