Working closely with senior leadership, the Careers Adviser / Employability Coordinator will develop careers education initiatives, coordinate employer engagement activities, and oversee impactful careers events including careers fairs and practice interviews. As a Careers Adviser / Employability Coordinator you will manage destination data, support student progression, build partnerships with employers and community organisations, and ensure compliance with Gatsby Benchmarks and careers guidance standards. DUTIES Your duties as the Careers Adviser / Employability Coordinator include: • Programme Leadership: Design, implement and evaluate the school’s Careers Related Learning programme aligned with national careers standards and Gatsby Benchmarks, • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and manage relationships with employers, community partners and volunteers to support careers education initiatives, • Careers Event Management: Plan and deliver major careers events including careers fairs, practice interviews and employer engagement activities, • Independent Advice Coordination: Organise schedules for external careers advisers ensuring students receive impartial guidance and progression support, • Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor student destination data and engagement metrics to inform strategic improvements and reporting, • Operational Administration: Oversee careers administration processes ensuring accurate records, efficient systems and professional standards, • Work Experience Programme Management: Coordinate workplace learning placements, ensuring health and safety compliance and appropriate opportunities for students, • Employer Partnerships: Proactively identify and secure local business partners to support placements, talks and careers enrichment activities, • Communication Strategy: Promote careers opportunities and information through digital platforms, communications and school channels, • Strategic Contribution: Support the development of careers strategy and ensure compliance with education policies and statutory guidance CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS • Previous experience coordinating careers education, employability programmes, student progression or similar initiatives, • Experience organising events, managing stakeholders or coordinating external partnerships, • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, • Experience analysing data, producing reports and monitoring programme outcomes, • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with employers, students and staff, • Strong administrative skills including database management, record keeping and digital systems, • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, leadership teams and external organisations, • Commitment to equality, inclusion and widening participation for all students BENEFITS • Exceptional team environment where all staff are valued, • Excellent Continuing Professional Development with high quality CPD programs, • Many opportunities for career progression, • One day per academic year — a fully paid day off to support personal events, • Two-week October half term: Providing staff and students with an extended break during the autumn term, • Extensive department resources and facilities, • A tax efficient Cycle-to-Work scheme through salary sacrifice, • Staff membership rates to the onsite Leisure Centre, • Enrolment in one of the UK’s largest public sector pension schemes The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
