Project ManagerOverview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our team. Documentation & Technical Submittals • Prepare technical submittals, method statements, O&M manuals, and subcontract purchase specifications., • Raise purchase requisitions and maintain effective communication with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and clients. Financial Management • Manage project finances to maximise profitability and maintain positive cash flow., • Prepare applications for payment, invoices, cost reports, and cost-to-complete forecasts., • Oversee supply chain purchase orders and authorise payments. Compliance & Systems Management • Adhere to company processes, procedures, and customer contractual commitments., • Proven project management experience, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, construction, acoustics, or a similar technical environment., • Strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills., • Financial acumen with experience in cost control and forecasting., • Customer-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness., • Engineering HNC or equivalent technical qualification., • Recognised construction safety training and/or qualifications., • Professional project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP)., • Manufacturing experience within a sheet metal environment.Day-to-Day, • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with stakeholders., • Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of milestones., • Prepare and review technical and financial documentation., • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure project success., • Address challenges proactively and implement solutions effectively.Benefits, • Competitive salary of £38,000 - £40,000 per year., • Car allowance of £470 per month., • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service., • Company pension scheme.

You will join at a pivotal moment for ABP Southampton, where a major multi‑year RoRo port expansion is progressing through a Development Consent Order. This is a significant, several‑year programme, involving extensive design studies, environmental assessments and development work. The Opportunity As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in turning high‑value opportunities into real‑world delivery. Working within cross‑functional project teams and alongside regional operations, engineering, commercial and property colleagues, you’ll help ensure our major infrastructure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting the delivery of major capital projects by: • Managing scope, risk, change and governance throughout the project lifecycle., • Maintaining project documentation, schedules and reporting to ensure delivery against time, cost and quality objectives., • Assisting with the development of business cases and project options to secure strong value for money., • Supporting stakeholder and community engagement activities, including planning and consenting processes., • Coordinating procurement and contract administration, ensuring best value and reduced risk to ABP., • Encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the Major Projects team., • Promoting a strong culture of health, safety and wellbeing in all activities. Skills and Experiences Essential • Degree (or equivalent) in Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline., • 3–5 years’ experience supporting capital infrastructure projects., • Strong organisational, communication and reporting skills., • Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams., • Flexibility to work across the UK, with regular travel to ABP ports and partner locations (all travel covered in line with policy)., • Experience in transport, maritime, rail, logistics or port environments., • Client‑side experience developing or delivering major infrastructure., • Positive, high‑energy, proactive approach with strong self‑motivation., • Broad experience across development stages, with flexibility to support a long‑term, multi‑phase project., • Willingness to travel as required by the project. Ideal • Working towards (or membership of) APM, ICE or similar body., • Familiarity with nationally significant infrastructure processes, including DCOs, environmental studies or design development., • Basic understanding of construction contracts

The role will manage and co-ordinate the day-to-day operations of the Regional Centre in liaison with other key managers.
