What were looking for We are looking for a creative and experienced Development & Production Chef to join our passionate North Acton team . They will play a key role in driving product development and excellence across all our products. This role combines hands-on recipe development with overseeing production, ensuring that every product meets our high standards of quality, consistency, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be confident in developing new recipes, scaling products for commercial production, and maintaining strict quality and safety standards. Youll be comfortable leading and supporting a team, working closely alongside management to improve processes, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in a fast-paced bakery production environment. This role suits someone who is creative , detail-oriented, and organised, with a passion for pastry /bakery and a strong understanding of production techniques. You should enjoy balancing creativity with operational feasibility and thrive in an environment where both hands-on baking and strategic thinking are equally important. Production Support and Team Support Oversee and support daily production to ensure output, efficiency, and quality targets are met Monitor workflow efficiency and waste, identifying areas for improvement Provide hands-on leadership and practical troubleshooting of production challenges Assist with production planning and shift coordination Support day-to-day team operations by monitoring attendance and performance Recipe Development & Product Planning Develop, test, and refine new recipes , balancing creativity with commercial feasibility Scale recipes for large-scale production while maintaining quality, consistency, and cost targets Create SOPs suitable for production Quality, Health & Safety Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards Support with audits and compliance documentation Ensure teams consistently follow agreed processes and standards Continuous Improvement Support initiatives to improve workflows, efficiency, and product quality Help implement best practices and standard procedures Suggest practical improvements to daily operations and product development What wed love you to bring Strong pastry experience in a bakery or restaurant environment, ideally at Sous Chef level Comfortable managing both office-based and hands-on production tasks Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Clear communicator with a supportive, team-focused approach Creative and c omfortable being hands-on Flexibility to work across 7 days Calm, reliable, and adaptable under pressure What we offer: Hands-on exposure to product development within a growing London bakery brand Supportive team environment with on-the-job learning Clear opportunity to develop operational and leadership skills Career progression within Buns From Home TPBN1_UKCT
