Discovery UK & EMEA network channels and streaming platforms. This role requires advanced editing and graphics skills using Avid Media Composer and Adobe After Effects. Strong storytelling abilities and a thorough understanding of broadcast and technical Post Production workflows and specifications are essential. The Editor will provide high levels of client service to internal and external stakeholders. They will be required to highlight any client needs, edit sessions or workflow challenges/efficiencies to the Technical Operations Manager, Bookings and Post Production Engineering teams as required. They will be required to work on a cross-section of content including compliance, cut-to-clock, reversioning and GFX customisation edit projects. This role will also require observing and logging any technical or operational issues and includes Quality Assessment work as part of the duties. Key Responsibilities: • This is primarily an Online, technical Edit role., • Compliance, reversioning and cut-to-clock edits., • Adapting content for various EMEA regions, such as replacing on-screen GFX, subtitles and audio tracks., • Creating graphics, titles, captions etc. using After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator, either by adapting a pre-supplied GFX package/template or from scratch., • Performing edits according to WBD tech specs, edit instructions and style guides., • Editing and mastering original content from rushes., • Ensuring that all aspects of Ofcom, NICAM and all other Codes of Practice relating to the channels and broadcast are observed., • Maintaining QC standards of newly created materials., • Accurate metadata entry on systems and documentation., • Ensuring all operational procedures, workflows and instructions are followed precisely., • Maintaining a high level of attention to detail., • Having a client-focused mindset and able to work effectively and considerately as part of a team., • Demonstrating impeccable, courteous communication skills and a proactive approach to requests. Prioritising and dealing with queries as quickly and efficiently as possible., • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to maintain the look and feel of WBD brands., • Communicating queries or missing materials to Edit Bookings, the Edit Coordinators, the Media Management Team, and liaise with the Content Operations Team., • Ability to problem solve issues with Avid and the workflow, while also reporting any technical problems to the Post Production Engineering team and Technical Operations Manager., • Once up to speed, the ability to train junior and new members of the DPost edit team and the wider team on specific workflows if required., • Additional Ad hoc duties as required., • You may be required to work shifts. Requirements: • Advanced knowledge of Avid Media Composer is absolutely essential, • Advanced knowledge of Adobe After Effects is also essential, • Grading skills using Avid Symphony and/or Baselight Editions are desirable., • Good understanding of Ofcom and NICAM code of practices, the DPP and EBU regulations, • An impeccable attention to detail is a must, • Ability to diagnose and repair erroneous content, • Understanding of the AVID Interplay server is a plus, • Experience of other non-linear editing platforms is also a plus, • Ability to coordinate, prioritise and edit in a fast-paced environment, • Ability to work well under pressure, • Technical training and experience in a recognised post facility or media-based organisation., • Advanced knowledge of file-based workflows and broadcast technology, • Good operational knowledge of editing working within a team environment., • Excellent understanding of video and audio theory, • Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to identify and prioritise problems, • Decision making skills, • Although not essential, language skills in addition to English are advantageous, particularly Polish and Spanish.

Position Title: On Air Playout Producer Division: T&O Location: Chiswick Park, London Department: Network Origination Services Reports to: Manager – On Air Production • Location – onsite, Chiswick (address, building 2, 566 Chiswick High Rd., London W4 5YB), • Regular Time: PAYE - £26.34ph, • OT (Nights): PAYE - £30.65ph, • Contract- 6 months, • Shift: Night Shift and Weekend Shift General Summary: This key and multifunctional role within Network Origination Services is responsible for following agreed procedures, meeting client expectations, and ensuring all live programming strategies are adhered to during live broadcasts and productions at Transmission level. As well as this, the responsibility of the On-Air Playout Producer is to support all live events on the Nordics FTA channels and flagship UK Sports. The On Air Producer is accountable for revenue management through editorial choices, commercial maximisation and provides direction to Live Playout Operators on programming needs including the implementation of emergency protocol for World feeds, localised productions and multiplatform pan regional live broadcasts. The role acts as the main point of contact during live broadcast for OB Production, MCR, Ingest and other Technology hubs, whilst supporting Network Playout Operators with proactive editorial judgement subject to client guidelines, . Key Responsibilities: • Be part of the planning & execution of over 15000 hours of localised live events per year, • Closely liaising with technical & operations departments ensuring alignment prior to on-air, • Execute the plans agreed by Programme Planning, Production, Bookings and Network Scheduling teams to provide a seamless on-air experience to the viewers and protect the channels priorities, airflow and start times., • Protect the integrity of the schedules, • Provide times and countdowns to internal and external content providers for live events, • Revenue management: keeping commercial inventory fully optimised and identifying further maximisation opportunities within the schedule, • Main POC for internal and external Live Programming and Production teams, • Activate the emergency and disaster recovery procedures to ensure all broadcast channels remain on air during technical disruptions., • Minimise the effects of technical failure on the business and ensure the failure is remedied as quickly as possible, • Monitoring the feed and ensuring smooth execution of additional GFX if required, • Monitoring compliance at all times and reporting possible breaches on air, • Maintain a high level of reliability on live broadcasts and continuously keep skills honed and up to date with business needs, • Be part of solving problems of all kinds and improving internal workflows, • Assisting, training and supporting team members within the On-Air Production team if/when required, • Producing reports detailing all issues Requirements: • At least 3 years’ experience within a Live Playout environment, • Considerable experience within a live sport, • A good operational knowledge of transmission technologies and Sport production, • Shift work and following the flow of the business, therefore working during unsociable hours will be required including evenings, nights and weekends, • Well-developed communication skills, • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, • Good IT skills and What’s On experience or experience of a similar scheduling system., • Ability to work well and adopt a calm approach under pressure, • Flexibility and adaptability to different demands in a fast-moving environment, • Ability to multitask, • Excellent decision-making skills, • Strong team player
