Senior Finance Manager | Central MCR (3 days in office) | £75,000 – £85,000 + benefits \n Axon Moore are delighted to be partnering with a high profile consumer facing business to recruit a Senior Finance Manager, this is an exceptional client of ours having placed over 4 qualified accountants into this team over the last 2 years. \n Offering the chance to lead a high-performing team, influence the wider finance strategy and transform the way financial reporting is delivered across a complex, multi-business organisation. \n The Role \n Taking responsibility for the delivery of accurate, timely and well governed accounting and reporting across multiple business areas. \n This is a broad and influential role combining people leadership, financial control, month-end reporting, stakeholder management and finance transformation. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Lead, coach and develop the team, creating a high-performing and inclusive culture\n, • Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting\n, • Oversee divisional P&Ls, balance sheet controls, accruals, provisions and variance analysis\n, • Ensure financial reporting is delivered in accordance with Group Accounting Policy and UK GAAP\n, • Maintain strong financial controls and promote a robust reporting culture\n, • Partner with Commercial Finance, Group Finance, IT and wider business stakeholders\n, • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate month-end processes\n, • Lead improvements to the Finance Reporting Hub and its delivery model\n, • Ensure agreed service levels are consistently achieved and proactively resolve reporting issues\n, • Provide strong financial leadership and insight to senior stakeholders across the organisation\n, • Develop talent through effective coaching, mentoring and performance management\n\n About You \n We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience and a strong track record of leading finance teams. \n You’ll ideally have: \n\n • Proven experience managing and developing accounting or financial reporting teams.\n, • Strong technical accounting and financial control expertise.\n, • Experience within a complex, multi-entity or multi-business environment.\n, • Excellent knowledge of month-end reporting, P&L and balance sheet accounting.\n, • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and financial reporting controls.\n, • A track record of improving, standardising or automating finance processes.\n, • Strong systems knowledge and an understanding of finance data flows and integrations.\n, • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\n, • The ability to balance robust financial control with commercial requirements.\n, • A genuine passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.\n, • A continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working.\n\n What’s on Offer? \n\n • £75,000 – £85,000 salary\n, • Manchester City Centre location\n, • Hybrid working – 3 days in the office\n, • Significant exposure to senior finance leadership\n, • Leadership responsibility within a high-performing team\n, • Scope to drive automation, standardisation and process improvement\n, • Excellent career development opportunities\n, • Opportunity to work across a portfolio of well-known brands\n\n The Opportunity \n This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager / Senior Finance Manager / Financial Controller / Business Accounting professional looking to step into a genuinely influential leadership position. \n You’ll be joining an organisation undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation, with the opportunity to shape how financial reporting operates, develop a talented team and deliver meaningful improvements across the wider Group. \n If you're a qualified accountant with strong leadership experience and a passion for financial control, reporting, transformation and people development, we'd love to hear from you.
