Job Title: Scenic Carpenter Location: London Hours: 40 hours per week Contract type: Permanent Overview: We are an industry leader in live event production, crafting unforgettable experiences for clients through cutting-edge audio-visual and scenic solutions. Our dedicated team of professionals brings exceptional events to life in all scales and formats. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Scenic Carpenter to join our team. This exciting and hands-on role is based on-site at our scenic warehouse, where you will be responsible for creating high-quality scenic elements, liaising with various departments, and ensuring that all builds meet the highest standards of craftsmanship. Main Duties & Responsibilities: • Construct scenic elements and set pieces to a high standard, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to project specifications and deadlines., • Prioritise and manage incoming builds efficiently, maintaining clear communication with the Workshop Manager and Production team., • Proactively contribute to the smooth operation of the Workshop, identifying potential issues and proposing practical solutions., • Maintain a safe, organised, and secure Workshop environment, ensuring all tools and machinery are used correctly and stored appropriately., • Conduct and document regular equipment checks., • Oversee and maintain forklift truck logs and paperwork (where applicable)., • Support on-site installations and de-rigs as required, particularly on complex or large-scale builds., • Assist with loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently., • Fabricate bespoke scenic components, including timber frames and complete surface finishes such as painting, covering, and dressing with materials (e.g., felt, PVC, canvas)., • Perform repairs and maintenance on existing set pieces to ensure they remain in good working condition., • Help manage stock levels and workshop consumables, escalating shortages or material requirements to management in a timely manner., • Report any faults, damages, or safety issues with tools or equipment immediately to management., • Participate in the general upkeep and organisation of the warehouse and scenic areas., • Work safely and professionally at all times, adhering to company health and safety policies and relevant legislation., • Liaise effectively with Production Managers and other departments to ensure seamless delivery of scenic builds and projects., • Assist with maintaining up-to-date safety documentation and compliance records., • Be available for overtime and flexible working hours when required to meet production schedules.
