Our client, a leading company in the water sector, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is a permanent position offering a fantastic opportunity to manage all cost and contractual aspects of various water projects. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects based on architectural drawings, specifications, and relevant information., • Develop detailed project budgets, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs., • Monitor project costs throughout the process and identify areas for cost optimisation., • Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts., • Source materials and services from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitiveness and adherence to project requirements., • Administer contracts, preparing contract documents, variations, and claims to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements., • Implement cost control measures to ensure projects are delivered within budgetary constraints., • Track project expenditure and prepare regular cost reports and forecasts for stakeholders., • Identify and assess project risks, including cost overruns and delays, and develop risk mitigation strategies., • Collaborate with project teams to implement risk management measures and monitor their effectiveness. Job Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or a related field., • Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or working towards chartered status is preferred., • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, • Water/wastewater experience., • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles., • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders., • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
