Warehouse Operative Hales Group are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our client's busy and well‑organised warehouse team. Location: Hertford Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm Basis: Permanent Salary: 26 - 27K (DOE) Key Responsibilities Goods Inwards & Outwards Receive incoming deliveries, check quantities, and ensure all paperwork is passed to the Warehouse Manager. Operate the forklift to safely load, unload, and store goods neatly within the warehouse. Prepare outgoing shipments and load the courier each evening, ensuring all labels and documentation are correct. Order Picking & Stock Maintenance Pick and pack customer orders with a high level of accuracy. Dispatch orders with the correct paperwork and documentation. Sort, stack, and organise boxes to maintain a tidy and efficient workflow. Support stock control by monitoring levels and notifying the Warehouse Manager of any low‑stock items. Housekeeping Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment through regular sweeping, dusting, and removal of waste. Ensure aisles, work areas, and storage zones remain clear and well‑organised. General Warehouse Support Answer incoming calls occasionally and take clear messages when required. Prepare sample packs as requested by the team. Carry out additional duties as needed to support the smooth running of the warehouse and wider business. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a reliable and organised Store / Logistics Operator to join the team. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing goods in/out, organising stock, preparing dispatches, and supporting deliveries. The ideal candidate will be proactive, well-organised, and comfortable working both in the warehouse and on the road. Key Responsibilities: Receiving and checking incoming deliveries (goods in) Organising and maintaining stock within the warehouse Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch Coordinating outgoing deliveries and collections Booking and organising external couriers for nationwide deliveries Preparing and managing all relevant dispatch and courier paperwork (delivery notes, labels, manifests, etc.) Loading and unloading company vehicles safely Carrying out local and regional deliveries using company vans Ensuring accurate stock records and reporting discrepancies Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment Supporting production and installation teams when requiredRequirements: Full UK driving licence (essential) Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or logistics role preferred Good organisational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physically fit (manual handling required) Basic IT skills (stock systems, emails, courier booking systems, etc.) Positive attitude and willingness to learnDesirable (but not essential): Experience within signage, manufacturing, or construction industries Forklift licence Experience booking couriers and handling logistics documentation Knowledge of stock control systems
