Science Technician - Secondary School - Harrow - September 2026 Start - Full-Time\n\nAre you organised, practical, and passionate about supporting science education in a busy school environment?\n Do you want to play a key role in enabling engaging, safe, and effective science lessons for students?\n\nTradewind Recruitment is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Harrow seeking a Science Technician to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the science department, supporting teachers and students while helping to ensure the smooth running of laboratory-based lessons.\n\nScience Technician - Role Overview\n\nAs a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality science education. You will work closely with teaching staff to prepare resources, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe and well-organised laboratory environment. Your responsibilities will include:\n\nPreparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)\nAssisting teachers during practical sessions where required\nCleaning, maintaining, and storing laboratory equipment safely and correctly\nPreparing chemical solutions and managing stock levels of resources and consumables\nEnsuring compliance with health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations\nSupporting the organisation and upkeep of laboratories and prep rooms\nCarrying out risk assessments and helping to ensure safe practical work\nManaging the safe disposal of waste materials in line with school policies\nSupporting the science department with general administrative and technical tasks\nMaintaining accurate records of equipment, stock, and experiments\n\nRequirements\n\nPrevious experience in a laboratory, school, or technical environment (desirable but not essential)\nA strong interest in science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics background desirable)\nGood understanding of health and safety procedures in a lab setting (training can be provided)\nExcellent organisational skills and attention to detail\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nCalm, reliable, and proactive approach to work\nStrong communication skills\nEnhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nA supportive and well-resourced secondary school in Harrow\nFull-time role: Monday to Friday, term-time only\nOpportunity to work within a dynamic science department\nOngoing training and professional development opportunities\nPotential for a long-term or permanent position\n\nHow to Apply\n\nIf you are organised, practical, and ready to support engaging science lessons from September 2026, we would love to hear from you.\n\nFor more information, please contact Elizabeth Topley at or call (phone number removed) (option 3)
