Take a look around using our online virtual tour: Visit our school The Role: As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, your role will be to support the Class Teacher with all elements of the day to day running of the class/s and to teach whole classes, groups and individual lessons in consultation with the Class Teacher. You'll take the lead in the absence of a Class teacher, and assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment. To facilitate this, you'll be expected to know and understand the Class Teacher's curriculum planning and to plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and intervention activities to individual, small groups and/or classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary within agreed systems of supervision. You will be expected to establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe, leading to their enjoyment and discovery of others and the world around them. You would be promoting and encouraging study skills, social skills, personal development while maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times. You will be well supported by teachers, therapists and senior leaders and will not be expected to work in isolation. Please see the link below for our full job description: Working Hours • 40 hours per week, term time only, • Start time: 8.30am, • Finish times: 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 3.45pm Friday Qualifications: • HLTA status or Level 4+ Teaching Assistant qualification (or committed to achieving HLTA), • Minimum Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent), • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (grade C/4 or above) or functional skills qualifications, • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures, • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and ASC in a specialist school or specialist provision, with demonstrable impact on pupil progress and wellbeing, • Strong, applied knowledge of pastoral systems and Positive Behaviour Support frameworks, including designing and implementing behaviour support plans and risk assessments, • Proven ability to lead classroom practice: planning and delivering differentiated learning activities, deploying adaptive learning strategies (scaffolding, chunking, graduated prompting, visual supports) to meet individual EHCP outcomes, • Experience managing behaviours that challenge using de-escalation, PACE, restorative approaches and multi-tiered intervention systems, with accurate incident recording and reflective analysis, • Competence in delivering evidence-based interventions and monitoring outcomes through bespoke assessment and data tracking tools, • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and families Please complete an online application form in full, remembering to include all employment and education details.
