Job Title: Assistant Headteacher Location: Bromsgrove, Worcestershire Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum Contract: Full-time, Permanent We are currently seeking an Assistant Headteacher to join a specialist Independent College for students in school years 10-13 (KS4/5) with Autism and associated needs based in Bromsgrove. Duties of the Assistant Headteacher role will include: • Providing outstanding leadership and management across the College., • Drive school improvement strategies and deliver exceptional teaching and learning., • Oversee pupil progress, assessment, and curriculum standards., • Lead, manage, and support teaching staff across both sites., • Deputise for the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher when required., • Lead daily operations in teaching and learning, ensuring high-quality provision., • Promote safeguarding excellence and deliver safeguarding training., • Contribute to staff wellbeing, professional development, and performance appraisals., • Build strong partnerships with families, professional services, and community groups., • Maintain accurate records and attend multi-agency meetings to support pupils effectively. Qualifications/Experience • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) – essential., • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an SEND environment or similar provision., • Proven track record of outstanding teaching and leadership., • Strong understanding of the OFSTED framework and independent school standards., • Committed to improving outcomes for students with Autism and other special educational needs., • Skilled in managing a range of behavioural needs and supporting staff practice., • Passionate about safeguarding, mental health, and wellbeing. I'm currently seeking an Assistant Headteacher for an established SEN College in Bromsgrove to join their Senior Leadership Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on teaching, learning, and safeguarding, supporting students aged 14–19 with special educational needs, particularly Autism.
