You will lead and contribute to all stages of the engineering lifecycle Senior Electrical Engineer will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role allows for flexible working. The salary for this role is up to £62k, depending on experience. Whatyoullbedoing Lead the design, analysis, and implementation of advanced electrical systems and components for defence applications, including sonar, communications, power distribution, and control systems Take technical ownership of electrical designs, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards, including MIL-STD, DEF STAN, and other regulatory requirements Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical subsystems into complex defence platforms (e.g., ships, weapons systems, communications equipment), ensuring functional compatibility and performance Conduct and oversee testing, validation, and qualification of electrical systems under military operating conditions to verify reliability, durability, and mission-readiness Lead design reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior engineers to develop capability within the team Produce and approve detailed technical documentation, including schematics, design reports, test plans, and certification evidence Identify and manage technical risks, ensuring robust mitigation strategies are in place throughout the development lifecycle Provide expert support for diagnosing and resolving electrical system issues in both development and in-service equipment, including upgrades and obsolescence management About our company At SEA, we develop and deliver advanced solutions to make our world safer, cleaner and more efficient. Apply a methodical and systematic approach to problem-solving, breaking down complex issues and providing robust, innovative solutions Provide technical leadership in electrical design, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD, DEF STAN, and other relevant standards Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering technical capability and knowledge sharing within the team Plan, manage, and execute technical assignments, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality targets Engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders, presenting technical solutions and influencing design decisions Proficient in using an electrical CAD tool, such as Zuken E3.Series, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, CATIA Electrical, Siemens NX Electrical, RapidHarness or similar (preferably Zuken E3). A global organisation are looking forfor a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their site Barnstaple . The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and improving production equipment to ensure high levels of reliability and efficiency across the site. Youll be part of a close-knit engineering team that supports continuous improvement, drives equipment reliability, and contributes to a safe and productive working environment. Key Responsibilities Perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on a range of manufacturing machinery and systems. Diagnose and repair both mechanical and electrical faults in a timely manner to minimise downtime. Support process improvements and reliability projects across the site. Work collaboratively with production and technical teams to achieve performance targets. Maintain accurate maintenance records through the sites CMMS system. Uphold strict health, safety, and environmental standards at all times. About You Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in engineering (minimum NVQ Level 3 / HNC / ONC ). Proven experience as a multi-skilled engineer in a manufacturing or FMCG environment. Strong fault-finding skills across both mechanical and electrical disciplines. Experience with PLC-controlled machinery, drives, and automated systems (advantageous). Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
