As a Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, integration, and validation of electrical routing, wiring harnesses, and associated installation hardware used in land-based defence platforms, including gearboxes, drivetrains, and mechanical transmission systems. The role required strong understanding of electrical distribution, 3D CAD design, military-grade standards and cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, system and manufacturing teams. Key Responsibilities: • Design and model electrical routing paths within complex gearbox and drivetrain assemblies, • Create 3D harness design using CAD tools (e.g. Solid Edge electrical, NX, Solid works), • Develop harness schematics connector table, splice documentation and BOMS, • Collaboration with gearbox and mechanical subsystems engineers to route cabling through high-vibration, high-temperature, or constrained environments, • Perform interface definition for brackets, clamps, grommets and shielding solution, • Apply MIL-STD, DEF-STAN, and other relevant defence electrical design standards, • Ensure EMC/EMI integrity, environmental sealing, and survivability under shock, vibration., • Produce engineering drawings, harness manufacturing packs, and installation instructions We wholeheartedly believe in the diversity of thought that comes with fostering a culture rooted in respect, where everyone belongs, is valued, and feels inspired to share their ideas.
