Family Assessment Worker – Entry / Developing Practitioner Un-Qualified / Progression Role Job Title Family Assessment Worker (Developing Practitioner) Location GCC Nurturing Beginnings Therapeutic Home Salary £28,000 – £32,000 (dependent on experience) Role Purpose To support the delivery of high-quality parenting assessments within a residential family setting, contributing to observations, recordings, and day-to-day support of families under assessment. This is a development role, designed for individuals progressing into family assessment work Key Responsibilities • Assessment Support, • Support structured observations of parent–child interactions, • Record daily observations clearly, factually, and in line with assessment frameworks, • Contribute to evidence gathering under direction of senior staff, • Direct Work with Families, • Build professional, boundary relationships with parents, • Support routines (feeding, sleep, emotional regulation guidance), • Model safe and appropriate parenting behaviours where required Person Specification Essential • Experience working with children, families, or in residential care, • Experience in a Health and Social Care setting, • Basic understanding of safeguarding and child development, • Strong written and verbal communication skills Desirable • Level 3 qualification (Children & Young People / Health & Social Care or equivalent), • Exposure to family assessment environments, • Understanding of trauma-informed practice Progression Path • Family Assessment Practitioner (within 12–18 months), • Level 3 qualification (Children & Young People / Health & Social Care or equivalent) - within 12–18 months
