Civil Enforcement Officer (Night Shift)\n\nLocation: London Borough\n Shift: Afternoon / Night Shifts\n Contract: Agency\n Duration: Initial 6‑month assignment (extension possible) \n\nPay Rates\n\n£17.59 per hour (PAYE)\n£23.24 per hour (Umbrella)\n\nThe Role\n\nWe are recruiting Night Civil Enforcement Officers to support borough‑wide parking enforcement during evening and overnight hours. You'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with parking and traffic regulations, maintaining road safety, and providing a visible on‑street presence.\n\nThis is a mobile role requiring the use of a council vehicle, so a full UK driving licence is essential.\n\nWorking Hours\n\nMonday - Saturday: 7:00pm - 7:00am\nSunday: 4:00pm - 7:00am\nRota-based, averaging 36 hours per week\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPatrol on-street and off-street locations across the borough\nEnforce parking regulations and issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs)\nUse handheld devices to record evidence and complete reports\nDrive council vehicles to carry out patrols and transport colleagues\nManage confrontational situations calmly and professionally\nAct as a first point of contact for members of the public\nReport hazards, missing signs/lines, and street defects\nWork closely with supervisors, dispatch, and emergency services as required\n\nEssential Requirements\n\nFull, valid UK driving licence (required to drive council vehicles)\nWillingness and ability to work night and weekend shifts\nStrong communication and conflict‑management skills\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nComfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions\nBasic IT skills (handheld enforcement devices)\n\nDesirable (but not essential)\n\nPrevious experience as a Civil Enforcement Officer or in enforcement/security\nParking enforcement qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds / Level 2 Parking Enforcement)\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nCompetitive hourly rates (PAYE or Umbrella)\nFull training provided\nOpportunity to work on a high‑profile council contract\nPotential for extension following the initial pilot periodApply now to be considered for an immediate start.\n\nAdecco acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
