If you have strong private markets experience and a passion for creating positive local impact, this could be the next step in your investment career. #PrivateMarkets #LocalInvestment #ImpactInvesting #UKPooling #Pensions #InvestmentCareers What You'll Be Doing As a Senior Portfolio Manager, here's a flavour of what you'll get involved in: • Lead the structuring and delivery of local investment fund(s) and services, working with internal teams and external advisors to ensure:, • Products meet investment objectives, government requirements and legislation., • Ensuring they meet Partner Fund requirements., • Conduct comprehensive due diligence and analysis of investment opportunities including but not limited to primary find investments, co-investments across the capital structure and across asset classes., • Monitor and manage the performance of local investments including legacy assets held by Partner Funds. This will manager engagement, performance analysis and participation in advisory committees., • Build & maintain relationships with appropriate market participants (e.g. fund managers, advisors, local authorities, combined authorities and other stakeholders)., • Develop a robust decision-making framework for the allocation of assets to the local investment portfolio, including the establishment, oversight and monitoring of all portfolio holdings, keeping the framework and current allocations under review., • Support local investment reporting needs of Partner Funds, including assessment of local economic, social and environmental impact., • Contribute to the integration and maintenance of the house view on local impact., • Keep strategies under review considering market, government and local developments., • Work with Partner Funds and the Central Advisory/Client team to develop their local strategy, ensuring it meets the needs of the Partner Funds., • Participate actively in the Investment Committee (IC), overseeing and advising on investment portfolios, contributing to the investment strategy of the pool, devising, and delivering transparent and repeatable investment processes which meet the investment targets of the Partner Funds., • Be an ambassador for LGPS Central within the investment community, Partner Funds, and with regulators and key stakeholders., • Champion a rigorous culture of high performing, collaborative, research-based investing across LGPS Central., • Line management responsibility and development of the Local Investment team. The successful candidate will demonstrate: • Proven experience in making and managing local investments across private markets., • Can evaluate performance and risk of investment portfolios objectively., • Strong communication skills capable of articulating local private market portfolio construction and investment selection skills., • Strong analytical, financial modelling, and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, actionable insights, • Experience of collaborative investment decision making and portfolio management at a senior level., • Can assess and communicate local investments economic, social and environmental impact., • Experience of management and oversight of investment portfolios across multiple private market asset classes., • First class interpersonal, people management and communication skills., • Well-developed relationship partnering skills, including building and demonstrating personal credibility., • High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas. Qualifications: • Degree level or equivalent, • CFA or equivalent qualification/ relevant investment experience., • Has or can meet all the requirements of being an FCA approved person.
