Therefore, our curriculum contains varied subjects and activities, ensuring that every child gets the most out of the time they spend at school. \n \n By striking the perfect balance between disciplined learning practices and a friendly atmosphere we can be confident in providing the perfect environment for our children to flourish. \n \n Role Purpose \n \n A Facilities Manager holds overall responsibility for the management and maintenance of the school's premises and facilities, to ensure the smooth running of the Cumnor House Schools’ operations. \n \n What you will be doing \n \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Lead all aspects of premises and facilities management across the school.\n, • Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire safety, and statutory regulations.\n, • Act as the school's Health & Safety Coordinator, maintaining policies, records, and compliance documentation.\n, • Support and prepare for internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.\n, • Oversee planned preventative maintenance, statutory inspections, and repair programmes.\n, • Manage site security, including key holder responsibilities and emergency procedures.\n, • Coordinate fire evacuation drills and lockdown procedures across the school.\n, • Conduct regular site inspections and implement improvements to maintain high standards.\n, • Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring repairs, maintenance, and projects are delivered effectively.\n, • Lead and support site and medical room teams, providing guidance, performance management, and rota oversight.\n, • Oversee minor refurbishment, facilities improvement, and capital development projects.\n, • Support school events, lettings, and community use of facilities while identifying opportunities to maximise site utilisation.\n\n \n What you’ll bring \n Qualifications, Skills and Experience \n \n Essential \n\n • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required, as the postholder will be required to travel between sites.\n, • Facilities Management qualification or relevant operational experience\n, • IOSH qualification and strong knowledge of health & safety compliance\n, • Experience managing maintenance, contractors, and statutory compliance\n, • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively\n, • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands\n, • Confident using Microsoft 365 and facilities management systems\n, • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills\n, • Experience managing budgets and delivering value for money\n, • A proactive, hands-on approach and ability to work independently\n, • Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours callouts and school events\n\n \n Desirable \n\n • Experience within an educational setting\n, • First Aid qualification\n, • Practical maintenance skills\n, • Experience managing lettings or external events\n\n \n How to Apply \n \n Complete an application through our site before the closing date. \n Cumnor House School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
