WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE / FLT DRIVER – DAY SHIFT Location: Kettering Pay rate: £14.40 per hour (equivalent to £30,000 per annum) Type of role: Contract (ongoing agency role) About the Company Our client is a leading railway infrastructure company dedicated to delivering excellence within the rail sector. We are seeking dependable and detail-focused Warehouse Operatives to join their team. In this vital role, you will contribute to outstanding service by efficiently managing material availability and supporting a range of warehouse functions, including picking, packing, storage, kitting, and distribution of components. Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations: Accurately and efficiently pick stock using handheld or mobile devices to scan, ensuring data integrity within the warehouse management system. Carry out picking, packing, shipping, receiving, put-away, and kitting of components in accordance with established warehouse policies. Quality Assurance: Adhere to packing procedures and guidelines to meet quality standards, including the correct use of packing materials and techniques to protect items during transit and storage. Verify all picked stock and assembled loads prior to despatch, ensuring accuracy within the nominated systems. Maintain the highest standards of care in handling stock to ensure items reach customers and suppliers in pristine condition. Inventory Control: Support inventory management by maintaining accurate records of packed items, contributing to reliable stock level monitoring. Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas to uphold high standards at all times. Health and Safety: Operate safely within a team environment, complying with site Health & Safety regulations and Safe Systems of Work. Undertake various duties to support operational efficiency, general housekeeping, and hygiene standards throughout the warehouse and site. Experience & Qualifications Previous experience in warehouse operations and stock control is essential. Valid FLT (Counterbalance, VNA or Reach) licence and experience are mandatory. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate stock management. Good hand, eye and foot coordination to operate mechanical handling equipment safely. Reliable, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player with a flexible approach to work. Effective communication skills to contribute to seamless warehouse operations.
