You will lead the Final Inspection team (across shifts, approx. 10 people), ensuring high standards of safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement while acting as a key point of escalation and support for the wider Quality Control department.As the Quality Control Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:Providing day-to-day leadership and supervision of the Final Inspection team across shifts, including shift changeover briefings and prioritisation of activitiesEnsuring the teams safety, quality, delivery performance, and continual improvementProducing and interpreting detailed inspection reports, maintaining accurate documentation in line with the Quality Management System (QMS), and escalating non-conformitiesCollaborating closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to troubleshoot issues, resolve dimensional concerns, and support corrective actionsConducting routine validation checks on inspection equipment and ensuring compliance with industry standards, particularly AS9100 and AS9102 FAI requirementsDriving 5S standards and workplace organisation in the inspection areaContributing to continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as 8D, Kaizen, SPC, Gauge R&R, and measurement system analysisActing as a reliable point of contact for other departments and supporting the QC Manager with departmental initiativesProviding feedback, coaching, and support to QC personnelAs the Quality Control Supervisor you will bring:EssentialProven experience in machining and/or inspection within a similarly regulated, precision engineering environment (e.g. aerospace)Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T principlesNatural leadership aptitude with excellent communication, people, and teamwork skillsStrong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving ability, and a professional approachExperience working within formal quality management systemsDesirablePrevious experience leading or supervising quality inspection teamsBackground as a machinist or inspector in precision engineeringRelevant management or health & safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH, ACAS, CMI)Engineering qualifications (e.g. Apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent)Familiarity with metrology processes and continuous improvement methodologiesShift Patterns (Overtime available when required)Day Shift (no premium): MonThu 07:3016:00 | Fri 07:3012:30A Shift (no premium): MonThu 06:0013:35 | Fri 06:0012:45B Shift (20% premium on Friday): MonThu 13:2521:05 | Fri 12:3519:00Benefits25 days holiday + bank holidaysCompany pension (5% employer contribution)Subsidised health care & personal accident planDeath in service schemeUniform, bike to work scheme, employee suggestion schemeSubsidised canteen & on-site parkingLong service award & employee referral schemeThis Quality Control Supervisor position offers the opportunity to take the next step in your career, leading a dedicated team in a stable, well-established manufacturing site that values technical excellence, process discipline, and people leadership.
