Sustainability is just a buzzword to many businesses. But when your company’s mission is “to accelerate change by making sustainability accessible to all”, you really can say you’re doing meaningful work that delivers lasting impact. B-Radical is partnering with sustainable construction and regeneration specialists, KLH Sustainability, to recruit a Commercial Operations Lead. KLH is an employee-owned, purpose-led consultancy and proud B-Corp, donating 3% of annual profits to charity – so their impact goes beyond just the projects they deliver. Their work spans complex, high-impact sustainability challenges across the built environment: from 1,500 zero carbon homes at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, to circular economy strategies for major housing associations, to low-carbon developments and innovative commercial projects. They’re a small but highly effective team, delivering work that punches well above its weight. As KLH continues to grow, they’re looking for someone to sit right at the heart of the business, connecting commercial performance, project delivery and day-to-day operations. This isn’t about adding layers of process. It’s about making the business run better, with clearer insight, stronger alignment and smarter ways of working. This is a high-impact, highly visible role, working closely with senior leadership to shape how the business operates as it scales. The role will involve: • Commercial & Financial Oversight: Owning and maintaining a clear, consistent view of business and project performance across systems (including Xero and Avaza), leading budgeting and forecasting, supporting pricing and fee proposals, and translating financial data into practical, actionable insight., • Project & Budget Performance: Establishing robust project tracking (budgets, burn rates, forecast vs actual), supporting project leads to actively manage financial performance, and improving visibility of resource utilisation and profitability across projects., • Operations & Delivery: Designing and implementing practical, scalable workflows, improving how projects are set up and tracked, aligning systems (Avaza, ClickUp, spreadsheets), and reducing administrative burden on technical teams so they can focus on billable work., • Business Performance & Governance: Strengthening performance reporting, overseeing invoicing and financial hygiene, managing external advisors (accountants, tax, insurance), and supporting strategic decision-making with clear commercial insight. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence both how projects are delivered and how the business performs commercially. In a small, growing consultancy like KLH, even small improvements can have a disproportionate impact – and this role sits right at that leverage point. We’re looking for someone who: • Has experience in commercial operations, project management or within a consultancy environment, • Is comfortable working across finance, projects and operations, • Understands how project delivery links to financial performance, • Takes a practical, solutions-focused approach to improving systems and processes, • Is confident working with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions, • Enjoys bringing clarity, structure and consistency to growing businesses, • Is motivated by having visible, meaningful impact The role is available on a full-time basis or 4 days per week, with a salary of £58,500 FTE, plus: • 4% pension contribution based on a 5% personal contribution, • Annual bonus opportunities linked to company performance, aligned with Employee Ownership Trust status, • Payment of up to two professional subscriptions, • Up to 20 days per year dedicated to professional and personal development, including company arranged CPDs and team training with 5 days allowance for employee selected development courses and events., • Free access to fully equipped gym at the office with shower and towel facilities., • Team lunch provided on a Monday, with a fully stocked snack cupboard and fresh fruit provided throughout the week., • A collaborative, mission-driven team environment where your work has real impact This is a hybrid role, with a requirement for 3 days in KLH’s London office, alongside flexible working arrangements. KLH considers diversity a critical factor in providing quality advice and solutions to their clients. If you don’t tick all the boxes listed above (yet!), but they speak to you and you can relate to KLH’s mission, we'd still love to hear from you. As part of B-Radical’s commitment to eliminating pay gaps between different groups through our “No Salary History Policy”, we’ll never ask you for your current or previous salaries. We'll simply ask for your salary expectations to ensure they fall in line with the organisation’s budget for the role.
