We're recruiting for a senior Jira Administrator contract position to take ownership of a complex Jira and JSM environment, leading governance, workflow design, automation, and continuous improvement across the platform.\nIt will suit an experienced Jira specialist who can operate autonomously, drive standardisation, and partner confidently with stakeholders to deliver a scalable, well‑structured, service‑focused Atlassian ecosystem.Client Details\n\nMichael Page Technology are proud to be partnered with a national infrastructure leader operating across multiple high‑value sites across the UK, managing complex logistics, operational services and large‑scale technology platforms that underpin critical supply‑chain and industrial activity.\nThe client is currently delivering a major multi‑year modernisation programme, investing heavily in digital tooling, automation, workflow efficiency and service‑delivery excellence to drive standardisation, resilience and platform maturity across the organisation.\nThey provide a mission‑critical operational environment, supporting diverse commercial partners through high‑capacity facilities, integrated transport links and a strong focus on safety, compliance, sustainability and continuous improvement.Description\n\nAs the Jira Administrator, you will lead the direction, governance, and evolution of Jira and JSM.\nYou will modernise workflows, structures, automation, and processes, whilst reducing complexity, addressing technical debt, and creating long‑term scalability.\nWhilst the role will be a standalone Outside IR35 position, you will work closely with teams to ensure Jira supports high‑quality service delivery.\nThere will be expectations to influence platform standards and ensure consistent, well‑designed configurations.\nThe role will be full-time, 5 days per week, and the expectation is that you will be on-site for 2 of those days at the Liverpool head office. \n\nAs the Jira subject-matter-expert, you will also have the following responsibilities:\n\nOwn and manage Jira and JSM platforms, ensuring stability, quality, and governance.\nRedesign and optimise workflows, schemes, SLAs, portals, queues, and issue types, and build scalable automation using Automation and ScriptRunner.\nEstablish naming conventions, configuration standards, and guardrails.\nConduct platform reviews to identify inconsistencies and improvement areas.\nSupport integrations (REST API, webhooks, identity providers).\nTroubleshoot platform issues and liaise with Atlassian support as needed.\nEngage with stakeholders, translate requirements, and coach teams on best practice.\nEnsure Jira and JSM workflows align with ITSM/service delivery principles.Profile\n\nAs the successful candidate for the Jira Administrator role, you will have the following experience:\n\nStrong hands‑on Jira Cloud administration expertise.\nDeep understanding of workflows, permissions, schemes, and JSM configuration.\nExperience with complex automation design (ScriptRunner).\nProven ability to clean up or govern unstructured Jira environments.\nSolid understanding of REST API integrations and identity provider setups (SSO/SCIM).\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to challenge constructively.\nDesirable: Experience with Atlassian ecosystem tools (Confluence, Opsgenie, Assets), migrations, or enterprise‑level environments.Job Offer\n\nDaily rate between £600 and £700.\n6 Month contract (Likely extensions).\nOutside IR35.If you are an experienced Jira Administrator looking for a challenging, innovative role where you can add significant value to a renowned business, we encourage you to apply and take advantage of this exciting opportunity
