What You’ll Do Day-to-Day In this role, you’ll be responsible for: • Drafting bills of costs using market-standard drafting software (CostsMaster)., • Preparing costs budgets in Precedent H format to departmental standards., • Providing dedicated costs support to colleagues across the business, fostering strong working relationships., • Managing your own allocated drafting caseload with autonomy and confidence., • Maintaining awareness of claim lifecycles and ensuring service delivery meets team targets., • Thinking independently, showing initiative, and adapting to evolving business needs. You’ll work closely with your team and department manager to ensure expectations are met and quality is never compromised. Who You Are? You’re a strong match for this role if you: • Have practical experience in costs drafting or a related legal costs role (ideally at least 1–2 years)., • Are confident drafting bills of costs and using CostsMaster software., • Possess excellent communication, organisational, and research skills., • Understand legal documentation and internal case management systems., • Are thorough, agile, and capable of managing work both independently and as part of a team., • Have a good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and costs practice. A degree and/or Costs Lawyer qualification is desirable but not essential — what matters most is your drive, attention to detail, and commitment to quality. What’s In It For You?
