Your new school An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised, professional and highly proactive Administrative Assistant to join a thriving school in Rochester, Kent. This is a key support role at the heart of the school, working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to help drive operational excellence and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of leadership functions. As part of a dedicated and collaborative environment, you will play a vital role in supporting school leadership while contributing to a culture focused on student success, professional standards and continuous improvement. Your new role As Administrative Assistant to the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide comprehensive, confidential and high-level administrative and secretarial support to the Headteacher and SLT. This varied position requires exceptional organisational skills, discretion and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced educational environment. Key responsibilities will include: • Managing the Headteacher's diary and coordinating meetings with staff, students, parents, carers and external stakeholders., • Providing administrative and secretarial support, including handling correspondence, emails, letters and communications on behalf of the Headteacher., • Attending meetings and producing accurate minutes when required., • Updating school policies and maintaining key staff documentation., • Creating and maintaining reports, working documents and data records to support leadership priorities., • Acting as a central point of contact for staff, providing information, guidance and assistance relating to the Headteacher's work., • Liaising professionally with parents, students and external stakeholders, including handling sensitive and confidential matters., • Supporting social media activity by working with colleagues to ensure positive school achievements and developments are effectively showcased., • Collaborating with the wider school office team and providing additional support where required. What you'll need to succeed To excel in this Administrative Assistant job, you will be a confident and adaptable professional with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will ideally demonstrate: • Previous experience in an Administrative Assistant, Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant or School Administrator position., • Strong diary management and meeting coordination skills., • Experience taking accurate minutes and managing confidential information., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality documentation., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative systems., • The ability to build effective relationships with staff, parents and external stakeholders., • A proactive, professional and solution-focused approach., • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, confidentiality and the welfare of children and young people.
