Children’s Residential Support Worker (School-Based) Location: Blackburn Start Date: After May Half Term (Summer Term) Hours: Full Time, Monday – Friday A welcoming and nurturing primary school in Blackburn is looking for a dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to join the team for the Summer Term, starting after May half term. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a lovely, supportive school environment helping children with complex and additional needs thrive during the school day. The Role You will work closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team to support pupils with a range of complex needs, including social, emotional, behavioural, and additional learning needs. Your role will focus on providing consistent, compassionate support to help pupils feel safe, engaged, and ready to learn. Key Responsibilities Supporting children with complex and additional needs throughout the school day Providing emotional and behavioural support in class and during activities Helping pupils develop positive routines, independence, and social skills Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with children or young people with additional needs Has a background in residential care, youth work, or school support (desirable) Is patient, empathetic, and resilient Can build positive relationships with children and staff Is passionate about supporting children to achieve their potential What the School Offers A friendly and welcoming team A supportive leadership team and strong pastoral ethos The opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives A rewarding role in a lovely primary school setting If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and want to work in a positive, caring school environment, we would love to hear from you.
