These explain the job role and the type of person we're looking for. \n Location: Duration: Permanent, Full Time \n Roles that require PVG Membership \n Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £31,505 per annum / £17.31 per hour) \n The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment. \n Job purpose/about the role \n To contribute to the management of the school/service and the delivery of quality education through the appropriate involvement of the pupils, staff, parents, multi-disciplinary agencies and the community it serves. This will be done in accordance with the Authority’s Strategic Plan, the school’s/service’s Development Plan, National Priorities, Local Improvement Objectives, in accordance with current legislation, and within national and local agreements. \n The Faculty of Languages and Literacy comprises of English, (including ‘Literature and Communication’ and Media), Literacy and Modern Languages (French and Spanish). Using their experience of delivering high quality learning, teaching and assessment in a relevant subject area, the postholder will lead the development of pedagogy and the curriculum across these areas. \n\nSecuring the highest possible outcomes for all young people sits central to the role; therefore, strong interpersonal skills, a collegiate approach, and the ability to collate and utilise data are essential. In addition, inter-faculty liaison, with Crew in particular, is vital to ensure progression for young people. All Principal Teachers form part of the school’s Extended Leadership Team (ELT).\n\n The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:\n • Appropriate Teaching Qualification\n, • Full GTC (Scotland) Registration in the appropriate subject / sector\n, • Standard for Full Registration\n, • Standard for Continued Professional Learning\n, • have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 (all jobs)\n, • looked after young people, those that are in continuing care or are a care leaver up to the age of 29 (all jobs)\n, • are aged 16-24 and live in Aberdeen City or have been to an Aberdeen City Council school and are applying for a Modern Apprenticeship (except Trades apprenticeships)\n, • have done a Foundation Apprenticeship with Aberdeen City Council and are applying for any apprenticeships relevant to the area in which they did their Foundation Apprenticeship\n
