Established 20 years ago, Phi Partners is a global technology services consultancy based out of London with an annualised turnover of £50m. We operate exclusively within capital markets, in the front office, pricing and risk space, covering both business and technology services. With six lines of business, four international hubs and five international delivery centres, Phi has become a leading global financial markets IT services provider within our niche domains. We have over 500 consultants supporting more than 80 financial institutions around the world including Tier 1 banks and global asset managers. Our international sales team is run out of Wrotham Business Park in London where we have over 30 sales consultants covering the broad range of business lines, clients and geographies. This team includes junior sales personnel who focus primarily on candidate research and recruitment whilst they are being trained to become client‑facing sales consultants and eventually account managers. Phi offers our clients a comprehensive range of services including staff augmentation, advisory, project and managed services. These deals range from £100,000 to £20,000,000 in size, creating huge revenue and earnings opportunities. Phi has an ongoing commitment to growth in terms of client acquisition, geographical reach, and evolution of our lines of business and service catalogue. To support our ambitions, we take on four cohorts of junior sales consultants each year, in January, April, July, and October. Each consultant is trained the “Phi way”. Subject to meeting reasonable competency and performance targets, you can expect regular advancement on your journey: • Initially, you will focus on candidate research and recruitment. After six months, you will be allocated to a line of business, allowing you to become a specialist recruiter within that business or technology field. Training that is specific to the line of business will allow you to master your ability to converse confidently with client and internal specialists., • After a period of between 12‑18 months, you can expect to begin your move into client‑facing sales. You will be allocated a small number of clients specific to your line of business, beginning your journey with client research, leading into full client engagement if the client is approved as a target., • Once you have closed deals with clients (bringing master services agreements between the client and Phi), you will begin to generate P&L. Subject to competency and revenue targets, you will complete your move into sales. We expect this phase to take between 18‑24 months and you will be supported on your journey by more senior sales leads, a deal architecture/pre‑sales team, and the subject‑matter‑experts from within the delivery teams., • As a fully‑fledged sales consultant, you will be part of a smaller group of 10, that are some of the best in the world. You will manage your client portfolio and may be given an expanded scope of clients giving you the room to really become a true success. Depending on results, you may be allocated one or two strategic key accounts, with the greatest potential for growth. These accounts are global, and relevant for multiple lines of business. They will bring a large portfolio, driving significant P&L and earnings. Our most successful sales people will make Partner at Phi, giving access to stock in the company that is granted annually based on a transparent assessment of contribution. Within the sales team we have three partners today, all of whom came through the graduate program, and we expect two more to get promoted in 2025. The sky is the limit at Phi for the most ambitious and driven! We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a strong desire to succeed, and who are prepared to do “whatever it takes”. We are looking for problem solvers who have the ability to “find a way” to solve any challenge; people who won’t give up when the going gets tough! To become successful at Phi is not an easy task. It will take a long time to develop the required skills to be independent and to operate autonomously. So we are looking for people who are truly committed and driven. These are all skills that you will have had life‑long, applied and improved over many years. We will be looking to understand what drives you at a fundamental level, as this is what you will rely on to succeed. Our sales consultants must be great communicators: people who have a natural confidence with person‑to‑person communication, from over‑the‑phone interactions to directing meetings with senior stakeholders. You will need to be charismatic, likeable and confident. An ability to develop meaningful and relationships built on respect and trust is critical. “People buy from people” and at Phi we do not underestimate the need for our sales team to have likeable and engaging personalities. At Phi we are a giant team, a family‑styled operation. We have maintained a “small company” mindset and feel. We have an excellent team spirit – we work together, we socialise together, we support each other. Our appreciation for the wider Phi community makes us stronger than the sum of our parts. We are looking for people who will naturally be at home as part of a strong team – who can understand our values, contribute to the wider Phi community, share knowledge, and put the team before themselves. We will be looking for evidence of this, academically, professionally, or outside (such as sport). Finaly, it goes without saying that we are looking for very smart people with both the desire and the ability to learn. We will be immersing you into the complexity of financial markets, technologies, services and consulting, and sales. There are multiple dimensions of complexity within the role, with a huge amount to learn, and the field is always changing. So we are looking not only for someone with a technical mindset, but for someone who can apply their knowledge and adapt as our techniques and methods change in line with market development. We are looking for 1 st class to 2:1 from Russel Group or internationally equivalent universities, along with a masters or executive MBA. Ideally you will bring some real‑world experience, having already worked for a company in some form of technical sales or related discipline. Phi is an established business but feels like a start‑up. Your base will be the Wrotham Park site, but as you develop into client‑facing sales, you will spend time out of the office, and will have opportunities for regular international travel. The Wrotham office is open‑plan, and the high‑energy environment has a backing track of eclectic mix of music playing from the integrated sound system all day (we count DJ’s among our staff – so expect some opinions!). We are causal in the office, with an informal style. A visitor wouldn’t be able to pick out the CEO, who sits among the team. Our family mentality means that even the most junior at Phi has access to the senior leadership team. We are approachable. You will be on first name terms with the CRO and CEO, who will be amongst you in the office every week. Beyond the sales team, you will work within a wider community across pre‑sales and delivery, specific to your clients and your line‑of‑business. Our company thrives on having a diverse and international staff. This is especially true in the Wrotham office, where our sales consultants come from all parts of the world and there is a vibrant and youthful atmosphere. The atmosphere is dynamic and busy (punctual starts and hard work are inevitable), but always friendly. We socialise regularly outside office hours. Many of the senior team members at Phi have known each other for decades, and people who are the right fit for Phi can expect to build friendships that will last a lifetime. You can expect initial and ongoing training, in a well‑designed, competency‑based framework with a comprehensive and growing learning and development library. You can expect to be carefully performance‑managed using our proprietary tools, ensuring that your contributions are fairly measured and that you are supported in your drive to succeed in any areas that need developing. Finally, we offer competitive salaries and the best commission structure in the market. We have a simple and straightforward commission model that rewards you for what you generate. The more profit you build, the more you earn. With no caps, your earning potential is unlimited. #J-18808-Ljbffr

Senior Mechanical Project Manager – London The Company Our client is an established mechanical building services contractor delivering a varied portfolio of projects across London and the surrounding areas. Their work covers a broad range of mechanical services including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, air conditioning and associated building services installations, with projects typically ranging from approximately £250k through to £5m in value . The business has a strong pipeline of work and is continuing to grow its London delivery team. They are now looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager who can take genuine ownership of projects technically, commercially and operationally. This is not simply a site-management position with responsibility for coordinating labour and subcontractors. The successful individual will be expected to understand the complete project lifecycle, retain control of design and delivery, identify problems early and confidently drive projects through to completion. The Role You will take responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical building services projects across London. Depending on the project, this could involve managing a number of smaller schemes, one or two projects in the £2m-£4m range , or taking responsibility for a larger mechanical package approaching £5m . The important distinction is the level of ownership. You will be expected to understand what is happening technically, commercially and operationally across your projects and to actively manage the process rather than simply report progress. Your responsibilities will include: Taking full ownership of mechanical projects from handover through to completion Managing and progressing the mechanical design throughout the project Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information Identifying design issues and developing practical solutions Driving value-engineering opportunities rather than relying entirely on consultants to provide solutions Managing design changes and understanding their commercial and programme implications Developing, monitoring and actively managing project programmes Identifying programme risks before they become critical Managing procurement, materials, plant and subcontract packages Managing subcontractors, suppliers, supervisors and site teams Monitoring progress and actively driving the delivery team where required Understanding project costs, variations and commercial performance Recognising the financial implications of procurement, programme and design decisions Working closely with the commercial team while retaining strong commercial ownership of your projects Leading client, consultant and main contractor meetings Representing the business confidently in difficult or commercially sensitive discussions Challenging decisions constructively where necessary Managing quality, testing, commissioning, handover and close-out Maintaining strong health and safety standards throughout delivery Technical & Design Management A particularly important part of this position is design management . You do not need to be a design engineer, but you must be technically strong enough to understand, challenge and progress a mechanical design. The client is looking for somebody who can retain control of the design process, identify potential problems and develop solutions with the wider project team. That includes understanding value-engineering opportunities and being capable of proposing practical alternatives rather than simply passing technical issues back to the consultant. Experience across different building types would therefore be particularly valuable. Relevant sectors could include: Commercial offices Education Healthcare Laboratories Clean rooms Student accommodation Residential Other technically demanding building services environments You do not need experience across every sector, but exposure to several different project types is likely to have created the breadth of technical and delivery experience required for the role. Genuine Project Management Experience The client is particularly interested in depth of experience actually operating as a Project Manager . Ideally, you will have around 10 years' experience working at Project Manager level , managing mechanical building services projects of comparable size and complexity. Someone may have 20+ years within the mechanical industry, but experience progressing through pipefitting, plumbing and site supervision does not necessarily provide the same exposure as somebody who has spent a substantial period genuinely managing projects. The distinction they are looking for is somebody who has personally been responsible for: Design management Programme Procurement Commercial decisions Client relationships Subcontractor performance Technical problem-solving Project risk Delivery through to commissioning and handover In short, someone who has run projects , rather than predominantly managed the site element of them. Why This Role Exists The business has a strong orderbook and a number of projects either starting or progressing through pre-construction and delivery across London. They are strengthening the team with an experienced individual who can take responsibility for their own projects and become a key part of the London operation. They need somebody senior enough to be trusted with the complete delivery process. That means understanding the technical detail, appreciating the commercial consequences of decisions, controlling the programme and being confident enough to represent the company directly with clients, consultants and main contractors. What Makes It Different This is a hands-on Project Management role where you will have genuine responsibility and visibility. You will not be several layers removed from your projects or restricted to reporting information upwards. You will have the autonomy to make decisions, solve problems and influence how projects are designed, procured and delivered. The opportunity offers: Mechanical projects ranging from approximately £250k to £5m A varied portfolio of building types Genuine project ownership Significant involvement in design and technical decision-making Direct access to senior management Strong support from commercial, engineering and site teams The opportunity to influence project strategy and delivery Long-term progression as the London operation continues to develop What You'll Need You should be able to demonstrate: Significant experience operating specifically as a Mechanical Project Manager Ideally around 10 years' genuine Project Management experience Experience delivering mechanical projects of comparable value and complexity Strong mechanical building services knowledge Good understanding of HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and associated systems Strong design-management capability The ability to review, challenge and progress mechanical designs Confidence identifying technical solutions and value-engineering opportunities Experience developing and actively managing project programmes Strong commercial awareness Understanding of variations, procurement and the financial impact of project decisions Experience managing subcontractors and supply chains The ability to identify programme, technical and commercial risks early Strong client-facing communication skills Confidence dealing directly with consultants and main contractors The ability to lead difficult conversations when necessary Experience managing projects through commissioning, handover and close-out Strong leadership and communication skills A practical, proactive approach to project delivery You do not necessarily need to have spent your career delivering £5m mechanical projects. However, you must be able to demonstrate substantial experience genuinely managing complex mechanical building services projects and taking ownership of them technically, commercially and operationally. The Package The client is prepared to offer: Up to £110,000 basic salary , depending on experience Company benefits Pension Holiday entitlement Training and professional development Genuine long-term progression The final package will depend on the depth and relevance of your experience. Interested? You don't need to have made a decision to leave your current employer. An initial conversation can be completely informal and confidential and will give you the opportunity to understand the projects, team and longer-term opportunity before deciding whether you would like to take things any further. Contact Nimble Recruitment for a confidential discussion. A CV isn't essential at this stage. TPBN1_UKTJ
