Expleo is seeking a Vehicle Concepts Lead Engineer to support a major automotive OEM in Warwickshire on a contract basis. This opportunity sits within the Off‑Cycle Projects division of the VAVE team, contributing to the earliest stage of new vehicle development. About the Role As a Vehicle Concepts Lead Engineer, you will lead the creation of whole-vehicle package layouts during the Concept phase (pre‑CS to KO). You'll develop CAD schemes that support the definition of upper-body and underbody layouts, ensuring they meet Engineering, Manufacturing, and Design requirements. This role is central to shaping the architecture and feasibility of upcoming vehicle programmes. Key Responsibilities Produce high-quality CAD schemes to define whole‑vehicle package concepts. Support development of upper-body and underbody layouts during early concept phases. Ensure package solutions align with engineering feasibility, manufacturing constraints, and design direction. Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams, including: VAVE (Forward Model Architectures, Pre‑KO VEM, TGLs, Technical Specialists and SMEs) Human Factors Vehicle Attribute teams (Weight, TASE, Vehicle Efficiency) Body and Chassis Concepts Studio Feasibility & Design Structural Integration Advanced Powertrain Drive early issue resolution to enable smooth concept progression. Skills Required:- Competency in laying out Upper body hard points: Occupant Positioning across all seats, IP & Console, steering column, base of screen, pedals, ingress / egress, trunk dimensioning and useability. And/or Competency in laying out Underbody hard points: Groundlines, Attitude planes, running clearance, approach/departure, front & rear end length for Vehicle Safety / SI Requirements, key Axle points, Tyre Envelopes and EDU/ICE Dynamic motion wraps. Understands the interdependencies between Upper body & Underbody requirements (including Legals). Fully competent in CAD creation and visualisation preferably Catia V6. Self-starter able to sustain a high, multitask workload. Combine Engineering with business skills. Ability to work within a team or alone with exceptional organisation skills and attention to detail. Must have good presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate to all levels within the company (production line to director level)
