Freelance Quantity Surveyor Required – Civils / Infrastructure Location: Hull / Grimsby area Contract: Freelance Duration: Ongoing / project-based Start: ASAP / negotiable Rate: £400 - £500 Setting Out Solutions Group are currently looking for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a civil engineering contractor on a live infrastructure package. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in earthworks, piling, roads, drainage and general civil engineering, with the ability to manage commercial duties independently on a busy site. Duties will include: • Managing subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account, • Preparing and submitting applications for payment, • Measuring works and producing accurate valuations, • Managing variations, change control and commercial records, • Supporting CVRs, cost reporting and forecasting, • Liaising with site teams, clients, subcontractors and senior commercial staff, • Ensuring commercial processes are followed across the project Experience required: • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, • Strong background in earthworks, piling and roads, • Comfortable working on live infrastructure or groundworks projects, • Able to work independently and support project delivery, • Good understanding of subcontractor management, valuations and variations, • Strong communication and commercial awareness This is a good opportunity for a freelance QS with solid civils experience to join a busy contractor with ongoing work in the region.
