Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in earthworks and civil engineering projects? We’re representing a leading earthworks contractor delivering large-scale earthworks schemes across the North East and Yorkshire. This is a long-term opportunity for a commercially astute professional who thrives on taking ownership of projects — managing commercial strategy from tender through completion, safeguarding value, and driving cost efficiency throughout the delivery process. Key Responsibilities • Lead the full commercial and contractual management of multiple earthworks projects, • Oversee cost forecasting, valuations, change management, CVRs, and final accounts, • Manage subcontract procurement, payments, and performance reviews, • Ensure compliance with both NEC3/NEC4 and JCT forms of contract, as well as internal governance and reporting standards, • Drive commercial best practice, mentoring junior QS staff and ensuring accuracy in reporting, • Provide input into tendering, estimating, and value engineering during pre-construction phases, • Liaise directly with project managers and clients to maintain strong commercial relationships Requirements • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor (or experienced QS ready to step up), • Strong track record delivering earthworks or bulk excavation projects within the civil engineering or infrastructure sectors, • In-depth knowledge of NEC (Options A, B, C & E) and JCT contract forms, • Exceptional commercial acumen, analytical skills, and attention to detail, • Excellent communicator with strong client-facing and negotiation abilities, • HNC/Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline, • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally familiar with systems such as CEMAR or FastDraft What’s On Offer • Competitive salary and benefits package (including pension, healthcare, car allowance depending on experience), • Permanent position on long-term civil and earthworks frameworks, • Clear progression opportunities toward Managing Qs level, • Robust regional project pipeline across the North East and Yorkshire, • Supportive, hands-on team culture that values practical, site-experienced professionals At InfraSource Recruitment, we’re industry professionals turned recruiters — people who’ve spent 20+ years on the frontline of civil and infrastructure projects before crossing the table.
