Come and join our Cleaning Team working at The Grange Academy, Runcorn. You'll work as part of a team to help keep the school a safe and comfortable working and learning environment for students and staff. Hours: 16 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 3.00 pm to 6.15pm each day Hourly Rate: £21.21 per hour Key responsibilities as our Cleaner will include: - Vacuum carpeted areas of the building - Mop and buff vinyl and /or hard floor areas of the building - Clean toilet areas of the building - Polish glass and brass work in the building - Collect and remove rubbish and waste material to authorised disposal points - Take responsibility for the safe use of all cleaning materials and equipment - Work in a safe manner - Display appropriate signage - Report defects, deficiencies or health and safety related issues - Remain security conscious and report any suspicious incidents or observations Requirements: - Can work as part of a team and also independently - Follows instructions and safety rules - Organises and prioritises their work - Attention to detail - Previous experience working as a cleaner or similar role This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be funded by the Company. Working in a small independent SEMH school. Area Criteria Computer Literacy ● Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Excel (formulas, tables, sorting/filtering). ● Confident in using SIMS for student data and CPOMS for safeguarding records. School Systems & Legal Frameworks ● Working understanding of the SEND Code of Practice. ● Knowledge of pupil registration, attendance tracking, and relevant legal responsibilities. ● Awareness of SLASC returns and other DfE compliance and data reporting requirements. Finance & Admin ● Able to carry out basic school accountancy tasks including processing invoices, purchase orders, and maintaining budget records accurately. ● Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Adaptability ● Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced school environment that may change rapidly throughout the day. ● Able to stay calm and productive during stressful situations, prioritising effectively. Independence & Initiative ● Fast learner with the ability to take ownership of tasks and work autonomously with minimal supervision. ● Willing to seek support where needed, while confidently managing day-to-day operations independently.
