Senior Engineer (Electrical, Control & Instrumentation)\n\nRole Purpose\n The purpose of this role is to support the integrity and technical delivery of the organisation by acting as a central point for all Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) design activities and related information. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams and responsibility for concept and detailed design of EC&I systems, along with oversight of external suppliers and contractors.\n\nKey Objectives\n\nEnsure consistent, high-quality engineering outputs for both clients and internal production teams.\nSupport the successful delivery of major projects within agreed timelines and budgets, escalating risks where necessary.\nContribute to departmental goals and broader organisational strategy.\n\nMain Responsibilities\n\nPlan and manage engineering resources to meet project requirements, providing regular updates to project leadership.\nDevelop both conceptual and detailed EC&I system designs across multiple projects.\nReview and approve engineering deliverables in line with internal quality processes.\nEnsure all technical documentation is complete, accurate, and properly recorded.\nMonitor materials and components to support uninterrupted production workflows.\nProvide regular progress updates to senior engineering leadership.\nSupervise and support team members, including performance management and workload planning.\nAssist in recruitment and onboarding of engineering staff and contractors.\nSupport the resolution of non-conformance issues and raise concerns where appropriate.\nProvide technical support to manufacturing or installation teams as required.\nDeliver departmental objectives using available internal and external resources.\nTrack and improve team performance in terms of delivery, quality, and efficiency.\nMaintain accurate records of project changes and associated impacts.\nAttend internal and external meetings with stakeholders as required.\nIdentify and communicate project risks, delays, or cost overruns, along with mitigation strategies.\nConduct performance reviews and support ongoing development of team members.\nPromote effective collaboration within the team and across departments.\nEnsure alignment with organisational values and strategic direction.\n\nPerformance Standards\n\nMaintain compliance with relevant electrical engineering standards and regulations.\nAchieve high levels of on-time project delivery in line with business targets.\nSupport continuous improvement in quality performance and reduction of non-conformances.\nAccurately capture and report project changes and associated engineering effort.\nCollaborate with project stakeholders to manage budgets and schedules effectively.\nContribute to the successful achievement of departmental objectives.\n\nQualifications, Knowledge, Experience and Skills\n\nDegree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with relevant industry experience.\nProfessional registration (or working towards it) with an appropriate engineering institution is desirable.\nEligibility to obtain security clearance may be advantageous depending on project requirements.\nExperience managing engineering teams or external contractors on complex projects.\nProficiency in relevant engineering design software (e.g., CAD tools).\nAbility to independently design compliant EC&I systems.\nExperience producing technical drawings, reports, and specifications.\nCompetence in engineering calculations using both manual and software-based methods.\nFamiliarity with control systems or PLC programming is beneficial.\nStrong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.\nFlexible approach to work to meet project demands when required
